I agree with your mom, do it if you want it done but it's like you said you have to know how to be responsible with it and clean it.
People tend to judge you on what they see but if you are good actor/actress it wont matter what you have on! =]
but no i dont think it will affect it.
Good Luck!

I'm going through the same thing. In fact I was going to get it done today and didn't and I'm 17. I suggest you think on it more. No a tiny stud is not going to ruin your acting career. You can remove the ring during performances and auditions and you will have to in most cases for the sake of the character. If the high school acting thing is your only hang up then go do it. at least of you do it now, it will be healed enough by the time school starts that you could remove it without it closing up.

Personally, I think there are very few noses in the world that warrant a nose piercing. If you're thinking about acting in the future, I would hold off on this decision until you're a bit older. You are considering a cosmetic change to your face, and that's not a decision to be taken lightly. I do know of people who have had piercings and have had to remove them and let the holes close in order to get a job, so that's something I would seriously think about before I did anything like this. I mean, would you want to have it done, and then have to let it close up in order to pursue your dreams? Just consider that before making a decision like this. My sister has a nose piercing, but she waited until she was firmly established with her career when she got it done (at 26). You have a lot of time to think about this, and that's what I'd advise you to do.

i think if you would feel happy with it and can handle it, it's okay and you have a cool mom if she'd let you get it. as far as the acting, i dont think it would be bad, it would add to your personality and besides you could always take the ring out right?

If you want to do drama in high school, then I wouldn't get it done yet. It would seriously limit your ability to get the good roles. I also wouldn't do anything too drastic with your hair for the same reason.

Go for it. You can always hide the hole with some makeup if it is out of character, and later on audition that way.
