Why, when I asked my last question, did very few read it? Instead, they ignored what it said completely. You want to take the news and say it's the religion? Ok, so that must mean every mother in America will harm, possibly kill, her children the moment she has a chance, and that every husband of every pregnant woman will kill her.
Sounds stupid? It sounds just as stupid when you do it.
"Rape as hiraba is a violent crime that uses sexual intercourse as a weapon. The focus in a hiraba prosecution is the accused rapist and his intent and physical actions, and not second-guessing the consent of the rape victim. Hiraba does not require four witnesses to prove the offense, circumstantial evidence, medical data and expert testimony form the evidence used to prosecute such crimes."
What do you think of the quote?

In Islam, the RELIGION, and not the news stories, the rapist is supposed to be stoned. Ask any woman who has ever been raped, she will tell you she feels guilty and somehow responsible. Stating she is forgiven is a sort of comfort ,telling her she did nothing wrong.

I believe that most women who are raped should be told that they are forgiven.
Now this is MY opinion as a Christian. I am not an expert on this.
What I have heard is that a woman can feel some pleasure while being raped, and because of this pleasure they become tormented in their minds. They need to be told that they are innocent.
In Muslim countries women tend to dress very modestly, but here in the US many women tent to dress as skimpily, provocatively or sexually as possible. These women need to know that they are not totally innocent, but that they are tempting men to lust after them. And some men will give in to the lust.

I am a Muslim and I do not think that raped women need or want to be forgiven. Firstly, no woman ever asks to be raped. Therefore, a woman should NEVER feel guilty, and thus requires no forgiveness.
Being raped is brutal and has massive effects on a psychological, emotional and physical level. Such a woman needs to be supported by her family and friends.
Perhaps there are some women who feel some guilt, and perhaps these woman may feel the need to be forgiven. But nonetheless, I do agree with the quote.
Lastly, I think that theres nothing wrong with stoning a man who committs rape. He should also be castrated so that he doesn't have the opportunity to ruin another womans life, just his own.

EXCUSE ME? My best friend was raped orally a few years ago at a party during which she had been given roofies (aka "date rape drugs," and I don't know the official name). She didn't want forgiveness, nor did she feel it was her fault. She wasn't even drinking alcohol (the drugs are usually put in alcoholic beverages, in her case, Coca-Cola). She wanted compassion, and justice, the latter of which she never received because in most cultures, it's her word against his, and his usually wins. Just because Islam says something doesn't mean it's usually practiced, even in Muslim countries. You know that as well as I do.

Rape involves a victim and a perpetrator. The Perp is perpetuating his/her choice to sin against the victims will, or choice. Sin involves making a conscious choice to go against God's commands. Therefore the answer is of course not.

Esp for Tim and those of his ilk:
Rape is NOT about sex--it is about power and domination. If what you say is true, then no Muslim who covers herself from head to toe would ever be raped--and we all know that is not true.
I am sooo glad you gave your two cents though. God forbid you be on a jury of a rape victim--people with ideas like you make her feel violated all over again. God forbid you ever find yourself a victim of rape--I wonder if you would "enjoy" it on some level?

I read your last 3 questions & I have no doubt you believe what you're saying, but you & I both know that no matter what the quran says on these matters, men have chosen to put their own interpretation & bias into practice. The result is that reality is far different from the way you're trying to convince us it is.

I don't think women who are raped need to be forgiven. They have committed no sin.
