I think it's great I used something different but I am not a traditional kind of girl.

I'm with you, I didn't want the traditional wedding march either. I walked down the aisle to the Royal Phil Harmonic's instrumental version of "Groovy Kind of Love"
John Lennon's "Love" will be great

Each to his own taste. Back here in my country which is the Philippines, the traditional wedding march is no longer in vogue. Marrying couples choose the songs they want sung in the church and specially the song they will march to as the entourage and the bride walk down the aisle. This is rather nice because the couple choose the songs that hold very special meanings for them in their relationship.

Honey, you do whatever makes you happy. I will be honest. I have been married twice and had two very different weddings. The first wedding I was so worried about what everyone else usually does and what everyone else would think. My mom kept telling me all these things I had to do and what is "customary" in a wedding. My wedding was pretty...but not spectacular. My 2nd wedding was much different. I was a little older and was putting it together by myself, with only suggestions from other people. I got married at a country club with chandeliers and mahogany furniture instead of a church, I had a candy buffet instead of a food buffet, and we blew bubbles instead of rice. We also walked in during a song called, "Kissing You" that is found on the Romeo and Juliet soundtrack. I LOVED IT! I had wanted to walk into it during my first wedding, but because it wasn't "traditional" I didn't. My 2nd wedding was so much more special and "me" because I didn't worry about what everyone else though. You do what makes you happy!

I would go for it, the wedding march works for some people, but nowadays people are using songs that mean something to them, or just a song that is not the traditional "here comes the bride". I would check with where you plan to get married cuz some churches don't allow music like that to be played.

Went to a wedding one time where instead of the traditional wedding march, they plaid "There She is just a walking down the street. Singing do-wha diddy........" It was a hit. But, yes, have heard the traditional one done on guitar and other ways. String group can it do really pretty.

This is the question every Consultant loves to hear. Help me be creative. Creativity makes your wedding very unique and sets a cetain timeline in peoples lives. For example. "Wasn't that 2 weeks before Sherry's wedding" or "Didn't we buy that 3 days after your daughter's wedding". Uniqueness helps people to remember and it helps people place a timeline around the wedding.
As a professional. As long as the day is about you and your mate for life nothing is wrong with what you choose to do when it comes to music.

I hate the Wedding March....boring!!! I plan on walking down to Canon in D because I like it so much. I love the idea of using "Love". Go for it! There is no rule that says you have to walk down to anything. Good luck!

It's your wedding, your special day , you do what you want......,You only do this Once ( or at least your only suppose to do it once).
My husband is a pastor, and he lets the couple do what they want with in reason, now some pastors and Churches won't...so you would need to check them them.
But otherwise the decisions should be between the two of you !
Best Wishes for a Long and Happy Life Together ! God Bless.

I walked down the aisle to "I Loved Her First" by Heartland. Its a really cute country song about how it is hard for a Father to give his daughter away because he keeps saying "I loved her first". It really meant a lot to me and my Dad. Its your wedding choose a song that says everything you want to say to either your Dad or Husband to be. Be original!

Go for it. I personally don't care for the wedding march and have yet to attend a wedding where it was used!
