It does not require being a group of men who spend hours on the internet that are getting paid to discredit the WBTS. They do just fine all by themselves. The problem lies with the followers of the WBTS: The JW's. They are so mislead so as not to question what the "faithful slave" (as the governing body calls themselves) says. They have been indoctrinated with the belief that whatever the WBTS says comes from God, no matter if it is credible or not, whether it is "new light" or an outright lie.
The WBTS has convinced them that even though they have prophecied falsely, that it was the parishioners who were at fault by serving for a date and misinterpretting what the "faithful slave" said.
They are blinded by this false prophet organization and it is a shame that they are so manipulated by their psycological leadership skills, that they believe they shouldn't investigate what they are blindly following.

I for 1 am thankful I escaped.

And yes, I WAS A JW. baptized at age 11 as there was an urgency in 1974 because 1975 was the date!!!! I escaped in 1996.

May C: For someone who is "not JW' you sure are campaigning for them. They are not "THE truth" as you and they put it. THE TRUTH NEVER changes. This bull about "new light" and deeper understanding is their jargon for ooops, our holy anointed governing body was WRONG!!!! and we have to back track some how because we've stated that they speak for God and we have to believe EVERYTHING they say. Oh, and make sure you don't read anything that disputes the GB or the elders, or points out our mistakes, because if you do then you're apostate and you are not worth of even being talked to at all. It's it manipulation to the extreme.
and no I did not admit to serving for a date. There was a push for any unbaptized witness to get baptized before the end came, so I heeded that "faithful and discreet slave class" and joined up, served 20 more years until it all started unraveling. Note the 20 year gap....1975 to 1996..... I escaped because my eyes were opened to the lies & manipulations of the society, their use of scripture to undermine the mind of millions, their ascertion of being the only source of Godly wisdom, their hypocry in both action and word,...and when an elder told me that I shouldn't report the sexual abuse I experienced as a child because it would "BRING REPROACH UPON THE CONGREGATION" this is a direct quote, I had had enough!!!! but the list goes on an on of the errors of this organization.

Unlike what you said, I serve God now is both spirit and TRUTH something that was never possible as a JW because I was too busy making sure I fulfilled my duties and put in a certain # of hours, made so many return visits, appeared in public to be the perfect little family while my husband whithered away under the demands as an elder while neglecting our family, I was not WORSHIPING God I was serving the WBTS.

Just to keep a sense of perspective here... all religions are wrong about something or other, and all people in all religions need to keep on repenting about their individual and corporate sins. Yet it remains striking that the most voiciferous groups (like JWs) who are the most strident at accusing other groups of being Satanic, are the least likely to publicly admit when they make false statements. Compounding this sin is the way they come out with revisionist histories where they admit to certain errors - but only AFTER those errors were put into the public domain by their detractors! Then they admit to what cannot be denied but still put a spin on things (e.g. 1975 was not a prophecy) and excuse it as "the light getting brighter." As for the JW analogy of metals being refined and strengthened.... ha! ha! Good try! I'm more inclined to think of the feet of iron and clay.

Nauseam. It's ad nauseam.

Let's think... Why do they keep printing the same stuff over and over again? >> To keep the printing business going.

Why do they occasionally reverse themselves on things they've said before? >> Sometimes, it's because they wrote the new article without checking to see what they said the last time. MUST be! Sometimes, they just can't decide.

Part of their original appeal for me was that they had these handy charts and graphs to support the stuff they taught. Unfortunately, the data they use to fill in those charts and graphs is whatever supports their existing company line.

Ever hear of the "Peter Principle?" To roughly paraphrase some pertinent parts of it:

--Members of a hierarchy will rise to their levels of INcompetence.

--Members of the hierarchy have a stake in the success of those they promote, hence they will fight to maintain the appearance of the competence of those within the hierarchy even at their level of incompetence.

That said, the JW house of cards is just such an incompetent hierarchy. It is fighting for its existence. It exists now with none of its original founding members and very, very few of its second generation of members. It's a careening juggernaut. As long as it presents its facade of "true" Christianity, it will keep luring in some searching souls who have sweet personalities who really want to serve Jesus and/or fix up their lives and/or find the "truth," and have been convinced that the witnesses have the real, right way to do it. But that insertion of the "governing body" level into the hierarchy of what they call "God's organization" and the requirement of obedience to it -- no matter what it says or how stupid or destructive -- is its fatal flaw. It can't survive much longer without massive reconstructive surgery.

Moises... exactly how many yahoo id's do you have?
To be honest, whether or not this woman was or wasn't a JW, is irrelevant because she has made a great point.

You know it's kinda funny actually, that you have decided to not listen to her anymore because of her "lies".... yet you will let the Watchtower continue the lies!!

One more thing, if she used to be a JW, she is prob CONFUSED about what she really believes since she going thru detox. Believe me, I watched my husband change his mind a hundred times after he got out.

___

MOISES - at this point, after all the bible verses I have gone round and round with you... I HAVE refuted EVERY verse you sent me. .... so at this point, it's time to understand that it goes beyond the bible... it's who you are listening to. Is the Watchtower being 100% honest with you? Right now is not about "who has the truth" but rather what is NOT the truth. You must keep seeking!

This lady is receiving a pay check to discredit JWS but she never use the bible to prove that we are wrong, first she said in previous answer that was an ex JW, that she was abused, that was scared with be sent to hell and several more lies, but looks like is not a person it is a group of people that use the same avatar cause she has to many point and is new in Yahoo answer to have all thatpoint unless she spent 28 hours daily in the internet, so it is a group of men that are payed by someone to discredit JWS.

Well if she has the true then why she never use the bible?

She block my several ID cause she doesn´t let me answer.

ANNA i spoke with you before and you didn´t block me but this lady or group of guys blocked me.

Every single JWS can prove their believe with your own bible prove my statement the next time they go to you home.

Carol D,
So you admit that you were a servant of "date" and not of Jehovah? Just because you were disappointed that the 1975 end of the system of things did not come, you stopped serving God? It's so sad. TOO MANY people serve God when and if they benefit from it and when "expectation" is postponed, their true motives is exposed.

It's useless for you to tell dedicated JW to repent and seek the truth for they are the TRUTH.

many religion today are still believing the lies of trinity, immortal soul, fiery hell, etc.... instead of pointing fingers at the JWs...why not point your fingers to yourself?

For Jehovah's Witnesses who may encounter this question, i suggest you don't answer it. First of all, i apologize for such rude accusation attacking your religion. Secondly, you shouldn't be entertaining "these people." They don't know any better.

It is not the Jehovah Witnesses that were wrong, it was the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society that was wrong.

The error for the Jehovah Witnesses is failing to condemn the false teaching and translations coming out of that group.

Tere is huge distinction between receiving a prophesy from God and reading prophesies from the Bible? once you declare to receive a prophesy from God and it does no longer come to bypass, you're a pretend prophet. once you interpret Bible prophesy and are incorrect, you're no longer a pretend prophet yet purely a Christian who grew to become into incorrect in his understanding of Bible prophesy" and attempting to interpret prophecy! Even the 1st century Christians theory that Jesus grew to become into going to repair the dominion to the earth in there time yet no person says "fake prophets" !!!!

Through the prophet Isaiah, Jehovah foretold: “Instead of the copper I shall bring in gold, and instead of the iron I shall bring in silver, and instead of the wood, copper, and instead of the stones, iron.” (Isaiah 60:17) Just as replacing an inferior material with a superior one denotes improvement, Jehovah’s Witnesses have experienced improvements in their organizational arrangements all through “the conclusion of the system of things,” or “the last days.”—Matthew 24:3; 2 Timothy 3:1.
