Because one or both of the partners is not ready.
Because there is more to the decision than just biology or development.
Because NOTHING in life is a white and black issue, but exists in shades of gray.
I had one to save my life. My friend had one to get an education, making her the first in her family to get a degree and not end up cleaning rooms at a local hotel. My cousin had one to spare her child immense pain just after birth followed a few hours later by an agonizing death (fetal deformity). Another friend had one because she was raped and physically, emotionally, and psychologically could not be tied to her rapist. My Great Aunt had one, an illegal one at that, because in those days it was illegal to have a biracial child (the man would have been hung from the nearest tree in her rural Georgia town). Two of my good friends from highschool had one because they already know what horror it is to be young, single mothers and could not afford another pregnancy let alone child. My sister had one so that she would not be forever tied to the same man who beat her for fun or when he was drunk or on the days ending in "Y." One recent acquaintance had one because she had been sold in marriage at the age of 14 and was trying to escape that life, her family, and her "husband" who raped her for more than two years.
I have known and seen A LOT of Women who have made the decision to obtain an abortion. Were I forced to walk in their shoes, I can't say that I would choose anything different. Empathy makes it possible for me to see the Woman whose life was in jeopardy or being destroyed had she kept the pregnancy, not to mention all of the people who rely upon her.

I find it funny that those in favor of abortion are trying to convince us that two humans conceiving creates something other than a human life. The same as sperm or an egg? Hardly. Those two things on their own can never grow to become a fully developed human being, nor are they created from the process of conception. A fertilized egg or embryo is something different entirely. To try and convince anyone that two human beings initially conceive something non-human that grows into a human being is utterly ridiculous when you stop to think about it.
All of the scientific terms and "trimester"-this and "collection of cells"-that is simply blowing smoke to give an excuse to play God. To those who have no spiritual belief, i pose the question they themselves pose so often "What if?" What if there really is a God despite your disbelief, and in the process of performing an abortion you are disrupting the natural course of life for that particular soul. It wasn't meant to die at birth, it may have been meant for great things. What if YOUR belief is the one that is wrong? WHAT IF the act of abortion could bring about some type of biblical reprocussion?
As all of us who have some spiritual belief, and belief that abortion is murder are always asked to do time and time again, I ask you to open YOUR mind.

Abortion is by far one of the most inhumane things people can do, what happens to that life is just like murder, there are so many people out there who want to have children and cant, it would be much better if they would give them up for adoption, a healthy baby will almost always be adopted from day one, the mother can do lots of searching and choose the people she wants to adopt her child, alot of times the adoptive parents will even pay for medical bills, there are so many other things someone can do instead of abortion, how a woman can kill something inside of her is beside me, if they can open there legs without protection they should be able to have a baby. Now I also know under some circumstances like rape and incest why you wouldnt want to have that child, but for any other reason it is ridiculous.

People have abortions for many reasons, but it boild down to selfishness. Certainly there is a degree of uneducation involved, however most women understand that they are killing a child when going in for an abortion.
For undeniable proof that abortion is always wrong, watch the video at http://www.AbortionNO.org

From conception, the child has it's own unique DNA and oxidation and metabolism have begun. The process of human life has begun, and will shape and form the body in appearance throught it's whole life. While in the mother, the child depends only on the mother for food and oxygen. That child has its own organs, closed blood supply, own brain and heart functions, etc. When that child is born it still needs food from its mother, but can breath on its own. Nowhere, however, does science define life as coming from oxygen in the lungs.
In my opinion, abortion is legalized murder, primarily because someone else has deemed that child unworthy to live, an embarrasment, or an inconvenience. Only when the mother's life is TRULY in danger would I ever support such a barbaric act of cruelty on innocent life.

Sadly it's usually because the baby would be a burden or crimp the mother's lifestyle. She doesn't want to be inconvenienced, so she has an abortion.

Abortion is only considered when the person involved doesn't want the baby.................so it was decided that the baby wasn't even a person. Trying telling a woman who wants to conceive and then is expecting, that her baby is not real..................we soothe our conscience calling a growing baby a fetus or a bunch of tissue.

Depends on when the abortion is done. I would say that its a child in the 3rd trimester......but there is arguements about the second trimester, about when it can feel pain so to speak.
1st trimester does not a child make.
And ultimitely, it is not my place to tell every woman in existence on what to do with her body. You try telling a single woman what to do. But first let me get some popcorn and watch the show that results.

Abortion is intrinsically evil and in most cases it is the same as the fast food mentality, I want the pleasure right now but not the product.

It's the moral compass shift that has happened throughout history. We are presently on a downward spin. I document this in my study below.
