POTATO? i have a asian friend who is on a diet, he eats rice 2-3x/day, now he eats baked potatoes and cassava for dinner,

what r the negatives of eating baked potatoes or cassava for dinner every night (plain baked potatoes or cassava, without anything whatsoever)

is there any info (websites/URL) on this eating potato or cassava everyday, what r the negatives and positives ?

That's an easy question to answer.

If all he's eating is starch, then he could end up with early-onset Type-1 diabetes. He really needs some meat--even skinless chicken--in there along with greens and a good multi-vitamin. If he's set on avoiding meats, then be sure he takes some flax seed oil (capsules) to get the omega-3's he's not eating.

This is not a healthy diet.

Well, if you severely limit your food intake to only 2 or 3 items a day, every day, you don't have a well rounded diet. In your friend's case, the 3 things you list are all starchy carbohydrates- rice, potatoes and cassava. No protein, no fiber, no calcium....... not good for your bones, among other things.
