That sounds like it would work fine. In case you're interested, here's a great link I found that outlines what constitues business casual attire.

I started a new casual business type job a few weeks back, the outfit you discribed sounds great. I think you should wear the black tank top because you are already wearing a blue sweater. Try them both out and see which one you feel more comfortable in.

It sounds almost too dressy, but being a guy, i like that kind of thing in the way a lady dresses.
The way you describe it, is certainly very nice and a bit sexy too. Go for it. However, if the place you are working is casual, then you will probably see that your attire is much above what they consider to be "casual".
Take care, and good luck in your new job.
PS. Send me a copy of a pic in your outfit. It sounds really cute.

First of all, why are you wearing a sweater in June? There are many professional, thin cotton button down shirts out there. Second, the tie around the waist is something that may be ok if you were working in a fashion-based environment, but for a corporate office it is too DIY/trendy and will come across as you being more interested in fashion than in your work. Anyway, if you do choose to wear the blue sweater, white always goes much better with blue than black does. Don't place so much emphasis on what you're wearing to a job - it's your work that should be making a statement and ultimately what will push you up the corporate ladder; that is not to say you should not look professional. Whenever you're thinking of wearing an outfit to work, since you're going for the smart/casual look - look in the mirror, and think to yourself, is this something the CEO of a Fortune 500 company would wear on a casual day at work or is this something her new intern would wear? You teach people how to treat you based on your appearance, so if you dress like a professional, people will be more inclined to take you seriously and trust you with important tasks; not just being in charge of the copy machine or fetching coffee, for instance.

I think that's fine. I would add the tank top. What about hose Not sure where you live so I don't know if it would be too warm. Most offices have cooling systems if not central air. Maybe wear hose 1st day and check out others.
GOOD LUCK!!!!
