The Christian postings on R&S are totally devoid of any style or flash. I think they would attract more interest if they weren't so terribly ill-worded....we won't touch upon the subject of their poor spelling.

I have always held that we Atheists have a bit of an edge because of the generally higher level of education we possess; however, even a mediocre education should allow for a bit more creative question than "Why Do You Accuse Me Of Pushing Christ On You?"...one of the worst-written questions ever.

Jack is, of course, more sensitive to such things, being a consummate practitioner of the written word, but surely others have noticed this as well? What is the reason for the generally poor quality of the Christian fundamentalist postings?

Ugh, what a pompous, arrogant way of expressing yourself. You do yourself, and others, a disservice by assuming people of faith lack the intelligence or education you have. You are sorely mistaken.

But you are entitled to be, and if that idea helps you to remain staunch in your fundamentalist "A"theism, then as a Christian, I utterly support your right to believe what you will.

God bless you.

If you are the Simon Cowell of R&S, then you need to work more on your style and flash.

To my way of thinking, Athiests have no more of an edge than anyone does, who has graduated college. I am sorry to state, that most of the people who answer on Yahoo answers dash out their answers for the 2 points, as if it's a competition. They don't really take time to think about what they want to say.

Personally, I feel that many of these people are below the age of 12 and have only experienced texting.

I agree with you about the lack of intelligent questions on Yahoo Answers, but even the questions count for points.

One other reason, as to why the people on this forum don't communicate well, is due to the fact real debate is all but dead in America today. After all, when was the last time you saw a good old fashioned give and take debate, where nobody screamed at their opponent, or slung mud?

In conclusion, Style and Flash are extremely subjective and to you what might be boring, to others, might be Shakespearian.

I have noticed horrendous spelling and mechanics from just about every walk of life on this site. A good part of it is pure laziness. The check spelling feature is so easy to use. However, I've seen horrible posts from Christians and atheists alike. By the way, I have an MA. Is that a high enough degree for you, Mr. Cowell?

I do try to learn about other religions. Most of them become very confusing to me. I cannot experience what they experience with their rituals. I went to a muslim mosque and listened to the sermon. I understood what they were saying (it was in english because people like me were visiting), but couldn't get the meaning behind each little ritual. Most other religions, I can't experience like that. I usually have to read books or talk to people. Books are interesting, lots of info. Ofcourse, there can be bias, so it's important to know where it's from. Same with people who I talk with. They are another source. My real question is, why don't people spend more time learning Christianity? A lot of people immediately dismiss it, spending their time attacking the bible. Or they quote parts of it to make it seem like they know a lot. But do they know what Jesus did? Why, maybe? Or they talk about the Inquisition and the Crusades! They assume things like, Oh, the bible is an old translation, so it's obviously "full of holes". Do they know that Scholars are checking and rechecking their translations all the time? And did you know that texts today are translated straight from the original language?? *sigh*, I'm rambling. I'm also upset that Christians are satisfied with "being saved" and having that feeling, or rebirth. Guess what? That shouldn't be the end! Birth is the beginning! The Lord told us to love him with our every being, including our minds! We should all, as Christians, encourage each other to learn more about ourselves, and what it means to be Christians!

Hello Jack B.. :)

A persons beliefs, do not reflect ones IQ, or their willingness to learn.

Though I did not graduate High School, I went on to College and received a B+ In Intro to Data Processing.

I was hired as Secretary for Midas Muffler, where I worked for 7.5 years. When I left there, I worked as a Receptionist for a water filtration Company and after 1 year I was promoted to the postion of Business Manager.

After I moved to Phoenix, Arizona I was employed as an Apartment Complex Manager.

All the while I was serving My Lord and Savior.

Courtesy of a Christian Fundamentalist.. :)

I say this with Love.. :)

Oh, dear!

Obviously I have not taken the time to introduce myself properly to your honorable personage (or would it be avatarage in this instance?) on R&S.

I am a Christian- an eloquent and educated one- and you will find that I do not take kindly to the feeble attempts (usually perpetrated by Atheists) to insult the intelligence of ALL Christians.

There are intelligent as well as unintelligent people in ALL denominations, walks of life, social standings and races. We see a sampling of this here on R&S. I have come across Atheists that give me a run for my money as well as those who should be prevented from procreating at all costs. The same goes for Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Agnostics . . . the list goes on.

As a "highly educated" person, you should know that.

Perhaps you should put your talents to better use than insulting people.

I am sure that there are a number of Christians here that can write with style (I have a style but I am quite sure it is not what you are looking for ;) And I am very glad that Yahoo Answers has a spell check (and so are those who read my answers:)

But substance is more important than style.

how pathetic is this? that a simon crowell-wannabee has the raw, unmitigated gall to accuse others of a lack of style?

so where does a self-deluded little wanker like simon-lite get HIS style? by copying his betters, being a cheap imitation and working as hard as he can to acquire what, unfortunately, he lacks the scrotum for...

and they call us "sheep"...

Well one reason the Fundies can't always make any sense or spell is because they are always so angry. They are so mad people are not like how they believe. Not even themselves! So how could they do anything with style or spell correctly? Hatred will eat you up inside. You know those people are miserable.

It's not even a matter of style. I'd just like to see words spelled right, regardless of their religion.
