this is better left to a therapist. she is not going to talk to either of you the way she would a therapist for fear of hurting either one of your feelings. take her before it turns into a more serious even physical problem.

My nephew is a worrier, but he doesn't have that big of problems to worry about... maybe your daughter could get in some counseling with someone that knows better how to help kids- it sounds like you aren't relating to her, so please help her find someone who can.
We just try to build up my nephew by doing fun things with him and not ever, ever comparing him to others. Stay positive. Don't say anything even remotely negative about your ex, whether you think she could hear, or not. If you get along with him, encourage him to do the same. Really, I think she needs to talk to someone who would actually understand what SHE is going through from HER perspective, not from yours. Good luck~

I agree counseling is a good idea, but I had this problem with my son and when I took him the counselor said he didn't need her, that my son felt perfectly comfortable talking to me. Keep talking to her. Let her know that you and her dad are both there for her for any reason. Let her know that sometimes things happen in life but that isn't something she even needs to think about. Redirect her energies and eventually she will learn her own coping methods.

Your child is obviously upset.I was the same way always trying to keep my mom or dad from feeling upset and trying not to talk about the other parent. My advice is to know that when she does this it is from care, but you always need to relieve problems like that from her.It did lower my grades in school when I was a child so make sure to make her happy each day.

i took my daughter to a mental health center for counselling when she was five because of her fear of storms. the doctor said she would probably grow out of it BUT sometimes fears change and develop into more harmful things such as eating disorders, low self esteem, etc. better safe than sorry. make the appointment. it really helped us.
