With any religion I mean.

I babysit my neighbor's five year old grandson who goes to Christian school. He loves telling me about what he's learned.

He was just telling me that Moses was a very bad man. "He broke the ten commandments! God says you can't do that, but he did! He just threw them down and smashed them up!"

Yes, kids love to show what they've learned, even if they don't get the story straight a lot of the time. I remember walking to the park with my niece on a cloudy day. Just as we got to the park, the clouds parted. She said that God did that for us. I summarized "So God knew we wanted to go to the park and have sun so he parted the clouds?" She replied "No, God's not a MIND READER, silly. You don't know anything about God." As an agnostic, I fully agreed with her on the latter part.

That just might be the teachers not doing a good job. They may tell them the story as they would anyone else. But not the way that you should tell a child. But as for religious stories. Adults still get them wrong. So just tell him they right way and what exactly did he break and why he broke them.

Kinda cute. But you shouldn't doubt the young's grasp of the world. There is a strong alliterative value to Mose's symbolic breaking of the tablets. Just because he doesn't fully understand the parable, doesn't mean he doesn't grasp something important. From the sound of it, you may do well to listen to all interpretations of the old stories.

I get appalled at children's story books depicting the story of Noah and the ark -- acting like it was some outside force causing the flood, and that Joe Hovah swoops in to save the day by warning Noah just in the nick of time.

Whenever I see a parent reading that story to the kids, I make a point of leaning over and setting the kids straight on the facts -- that it's really about God throwing a hissy fit and deciding to MURDER the entire world....

This isn’t about misinterpreting a Bible story, it’s about misinterpreting what the pastor is asking.

My pastor was trying to entertain some kids with a guessing game. He asks them what has a big bushy tail and collects nuts.

One little boy says, "I know the answer you want is Jesus, but it sounds like a squirrel to me."

LOL...cute.

When we sang the "Father Abraham" song in Sunday School as kids, I'd be scratching my head wondering why they made a song about Abraham Lincoln when he wasn't even in the Bible!

Took me a while to realize that they meant Abraham from the OT.

Yes they do, and it makes me laugh and then you just tell them what really happened. Then they laugh, eventually though my kids really got it, they now get it so good they teach me a few things ...... I have forgotten. God is good!
