Has anyone replaced a transmission on their '95 Ford F150..cost?

Transmission just went out. My hubby and his dad are very handy and have replaced transmissions before...Has anyone replaced their's on their own...or even if you took it in.... how much did it cost to fix?

As I remember, it cost $400 to have mine rebuilt. That also included removal and installation. It was on a 87.

well depending where u r if in the united states i am finding them from 1,ooo to 2,000 dollars, but it also depends on the motor size if it had over drive and if it is 4 wheel drive
