God would freak out.
For one thing, Jesus has set up special viewing rooms in Heaven where you can go in and put on earphones, and peer into holy goggles, and peer into Hell, and watch atheists writhe and scream in agony.
God and Jesus both enjoy putting them in Hell, and want to share the fun.
What you hypothecate* would cause a serious crimp in the whole setup. Let's hope it doesn't happen. God would not be amused, and who knows that then.

The gate is narrow- not because God chooses men or women to go to hell- it is narrow- because He knows there will be many people in hell, because they choose not to accept Christ as their Savior- other verses in scripture say, that God desires ALL men to come to the knowledge of the truth. He is all knowing. The entrance is a narrow gate- only through Christ can we enter. Nothing else saves except Him.

To quote Jesus, "Ye do err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God." (Mat 22:29)
Here's what the Bible has to say about what God wants for His creation:
1 Timothy 2:3-4 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
-- and --
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
So far from wanting most people to go to Hell, God wants them to be saved by accepting Jesus' atoning death on the Cross for forgiveness of their sins. It's not God's fault if people reject Christ and choose the broad path to destruction.
2 Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
So don't blame God for man's poor choices. He doesn't want to see His beloved creation suffer.

God's plan is not to put most people in hell, and you are among the few that will not find that small gate and narrow way that leads to life.

God does not choose for anyone to go to hell. People make that decision themselves by rejecting His gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
2. Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, NOT WANTING ANYONE TO PERISH, but everyone to come to repentance.

God doesn't want anyone in Hell. It is His purpose to help you to Heaven. The reason He says that in His word because it is true. It is very hard for a man or a woman to follow the narrow pathway because the wide one is so enticing. Believe me I resist things leading there everyday!

Jesus is saying that as a fact, more people will follow man than will follow God. It isn't in the plan for that to happen, but is a fact of life.

Christians don't convert anyone. God does the converting. Our spiritual walk is a heart issue, not a man issue. Only God can reach our heart and reconstruct it.
