Does anyone else think that they should have single file restarts every time? Yesterday for example there was Jeff Green, who lost control and took out some good cars right off of the restart. These guys are a lap down for a reason..they have ill handling race cars and cant keep up the pace as the rest of them. Keep them in the back of the field and let them beat each other around instead of taking out potential race winners. My fav driver truex got into it a little bit, but easily could have ended his day early if someone else would have hit him. Other good cars got taken out too. Is this something NASCAR should look at? Or leave it how it is?

Ok, you are correct that not all lap down cars are slower and things do happen, such as cut tires, but that problem should be fixed on a restart with the lucky dog pass. If they are the quickest of the lap down cars they will be back on the lead lap anyways. Or even keep the two wide restarts but have them start as they do at the beginning of the race with first place on the inside and second outside and so on.

I agree with you. If they are getting rid of racing back to the caution because its unsafe and adding the "lucky dog" then why not do single file restarts because you race the cars that are near your position to get your lap back anyway why not put them at the back where the front runners can race better competition and not have to worry about racing the cars that are laps down. Its cars that are laps down that affect races when there 15 laps to go and your trying to chase someone down.

No.Single file restarts should apply when there's only 50 laps or less to go in a race. The drivers a lap down every time is not necessarily there because of their ill handling cars,or cant keep up with the pace but just the way say a caution flag comes out and they get caught in the pits. But, i do believe the lucky dog rule should go away.Earn the lap back the old fashioned way race hard and get back in the lead lap.

Here is what I think they should do... Every restart is double file... just like you start the race. You put the lapped cars at the back so they can fight with among themselves for the first car a lap down... This way those lapped cars are not getting in the way of people when they are fighting for the the number 1 spot!

it would never work, some times people are a lap down for reasons other than ill handling cars, sometimes its bad pit sequence, sometimes its cause they are stuck behind a guy that looses the lead pack, what about the cut tire, the car is still fantastic but had to pit under green, now you'd have guys at the back of the pack tearing through slower cars trying to get back to the front, i prefer if they went back to the old days where the pace car catches the leader and they line up from there, and if that means there are 4 lap cars between 1st and 2nd place too bad,

yeah, I turned the race off after Matt Kenseth wrecked, but my husband and I have had this conversation before, and I think all the ppl that are laps down should be at the end. Even if its not a single file restart, they should do it just like they do at the start of the race, two lanes, but the top two in front, etc. The crappy cars shouldn't be able to interfere with the leaders. You're exactly right.

unmarried is plenty too predictable and boring. there's a reason each short song interior the country makes use of double document, that's the way racing is meant to be. Is racing replaced into purely approximately speed and endurance, then sure, unmarried document could be effortless and precise. even with the undeniable fact that, NASCAR is a game and there's a severe volume of attitude in touch, alongside with success. Drivers say they had quite be fortunate than good any day. i do in comparison to success determining races, yet I do like attitude. And success is relaxing too, as in all activities. A homerun bouncing foul. A prevailing field objective off the submit. A previous due interest fumble. An onsides kick long previous actual. An onsides kick long previous incorrect. A warm canine wrapper on a radiator. The double document brought about probable the main interesting series of races final year than we've ever had. not greater understanding who's going to win 40 laps until now the tip.

i agree and disagree with that because its a good idea to start the race two wide it makes the start interesting but for the restarts single file is the best way to do it and put the lap cars in the back because they are already at least a lap down and putting them in front of the leader will just put them more laps down

single file restarts are a neccesary evil at some tracks but if you are at a superspeedway and the track is wide enough to allow two-three wide racing, i say let those guys try to get their lap back. sometimes it is not the driver, but the spotter, who pushes a car too hard. if you don't have enough to hold off a driver on the lead lap, move over

That's racing. The only change to that rule needed is lap cars don't start to the inside when theres 30 or less to go, not 10 like it is now.

I like single file restarts better. Double file just increases the chances of someone messing up and taking out good drivers for no reason. Plus it makes it easier for the drivers to maneuver around the track during a single file restart.
