Yes, and thanks for caring enough to do so. I don't know which ones you purchased, but GE makes a really good product that saves electricity and cuts down your energy bill by about 7 dollars per light each year.
I think every one should switch to using these bulbs. Solar power would be awesome, but i think I'll get more people to convert to using the "smart choice" bulbs. :)

Yes it will help a lot CFL reduce energy consumption, one more thing you can add, use the automation system so as there will be lighting in the area where there is human activity in your house, when u enter the lights will be on and when u leave the room lights will be off it will also save energy a lot, what u think?

Yes, compact fluorescent lightbulbs (CFLs) only use approximately 20-25% the energy of incandescent lightbulbs. They also last 8-15 times longer.

It's too soon to tell, the new bulbs don't last as long and they cost a lot more. The real problem with them is that they contain mercury and will release it into the water supply when you throw them away. Also, if you break one on your house you have a Haz-Mat emergency, and will not be allowed to live in your house until the EPA certifies the clean-up.

It helps to reduce your bills and it also helps to reduce the litter that cannot be burnt to be cleared away.

Yes, but it would be better to replace them as the old ones burn out.
