No.
Slavery "works". It's a successful form of exploiting the labor or services of others for your own enrichment.
However, very few people think it's right.

You would first have to define what you meant by "works"... and for who. For example, there are those who say that capitalism works, but then I hear about people losing all that they have because they didn't have health insurance and I have to wonder whether capitalism really works for them.

I don't agree.
Maybe you cheated on a test.
It got you an A in the class. You didn't get caught, and you got the grade you wanted. It worked, but it wasnt right.

Definitely no. Slavery used to be widely acceptable. It worked in accomplishing the goals of enterprise (profit), but it doesn't make it right.

The concentration camps worked quite well for the Nazis but it obviously wasn't right.

That is too vague a question. And sometimes "right" is relative. Some cultures think its okay to hit a woman. I dare someone to try it with me.

If I bash a puppy over the head with a plank, the plank worked in bashing the puppy's head.
...doesn't mean it was right.
Nay, I say.

Is there a follow-up (or a point) to this seemingly vague question?
