Bezels tend to make the diamond look smaller. The light can't get under the diamond like it can in a prong/Tiffany setting. So you don't get the sparkle and fire. Bezels are typically better with large cabochon-type stones as it also tends to protect the stone against breakage.

both my engagement ring and wedding band have bezel set diamonds. theyre gorgeous! i dont think it makes it look smaller..its really sparkly...my rings platinum, so that helps, but mine or any other ones ive seen dont look smaller than normal. It also depends on the size of the diamonds, naturally.
Usually, if you get the ring from a jeweler and buy the insurance, you can take it in every 6 months to get cleaned and the settings checked to make sure your not going to lose a diamond or two

Cleaning is no different. I think it makes the diamond look smaller - but then I just don't like the setting. Having diamonds set in prongs allow the light to come in under, thus - the big sparkle!

I doubt it's any harder to clean. If you can, you should take the ring to a jeweler for proper cleaning. The setting will make the stone look bigger if it is in the same relative color (white gold or platinum for a white diamond), but look smaller if it is in a different color (yellow gold with a white diamond). It's an optical illusion.

You should always have your rings professionaly cleaned. Certain cleaners can harm certain gems so you want to get them steamed to get them really clean and get any residue off from doing dishes, etc. This is a free service at every store in my mall and takes 5 mins of your time. They will usually try to sell you something while you are waiting which is what makes it worth their time.
I think the bezel setting makes the diamonds look smaller because you have to have that lip to cover it up but maybe thats just me.

Bezel setting makes the diamond appear smaller.
I don't think it is harder to clean than any other setting.

Its not harder to keep clean. After awhile, it will get a cloudy film underneath the diamond (residue from soap when you wash your hands). But you can brush gently with a very soft toothbrush under warm water. I do this every few weeks to keep it clean.
Mine looks big, but I think it is more due to the fact that my fingers are small and the diamonds are high quality (sparkly!).
Try it on to see how it looks on you!
