little brother?

i am 13 years old and i have a 6 year old little brother. he is always getting on my last nerves. do i have the right to hit him back if he hits me first? or do i have the right to just hit him?

It may not be a very wise decision to hit back. One reason is that the second person always gets caught. Another reason, as the older sibling, it is our responsibility to show an good example.

If he hits you, you can catch his arm in your hand and hold his wrist firmly and say "Do NOT hit me!". You have the right NOT to be hit, hurt or even disrespected.

Also, upon doing this, let your parents know that you are very uncomfortable when your brother hits you and want them to back you up in securing your personal space.

well don't know he is only 6 after all you are 13 you should know better than to hit baby if he hit's u just tell your mum or dad try not to retaliate.

since he is only six years old you should not be hitting him but if he was older like 11 or twelve then you can hit him back but not with a six year old

no, don't ever hit him. that's not a "right." you are older and more mature. he doesn't know as much as you do and makes mistakes and can get annoying. but never hit him back!!!!

well mums and dads always say that we need to be more responsible and mature but i think that it should be mums and dads who should take it upon themselves to tell kids off i used to hit my brother when he hit me but then i just told my mum and it would be him who got told off not me......
