He feels abandoned by your boyfriend, he was around all the time and then left without an explanation, to a cat he doesn't understand that you two broke up, he just knows that his friend is gone, adn now that his feelings are hurt (yes cat's have hurt feelings) he won't just be buddy buddy with him b/c he's back in the picture. As for the roomate thing that is cute and also a way for your cat to make a point. He's saying see I'll be nice to him but ignore you b/c you left. The same goes for you in the morning. He could never really be mad at his owner, but by snubbing you a little he makes the point that he didn't like being left but he still loves you! Just laugh at his antics and chalk it up to kitty behavoir, they really are like little kids sometimes! LOL

Without a doubt that is what is going on. You cat felt abandoned by your boyfried and now he/she is unwilling to let her guard down. Just like you and I he broke the bond. The cat feels like you are the boss and she is your partner. there is a serios power struggle hapening. The only person that can solve this is you. If this relationship is going to last this time you have to demand that you cat be respactful. Remove her from the room if she is being bad and keep it up untill she behaves.

Well, i don't think that a cat has alot of insight into your relationship, she is probably just mad at your bf for not being around for so long. Just have your bf feed her a few treats and pet her a little bit and things should go back to normal

Yes.
I have a cat that I had years before my wife and I got married. The cat likes to curl up with me, and won't have anything to do with my wife. The cat tries to put herself between my wife and I at night while sleeping to get my attention.
Cats are smart, jealous, and manipulative.....also very independent.
