That's not enough . . . she should take her target weight and multiply it by 12 or 15 to get the right minimum number of calories, and then exercise a little. But she should not lose weight at this point. I think she should aim for 110 lbs. Unless she's very short, 104 lbs is just fine. Probably on the light side. Have a nice day!

Well part of this is that she has no fat to lose. So a healthy weight loss has you losing 1-2 lbs a week. This is not--so thats perhaps 1/2 a lb a week. Slowing down of course as she loses it and it becomes harder to lose. I don't know how big her chest is but chest and butt go first as that the fat we have. Then muscles.
Losing roughly 1/2 lb a week, she will be able to be roughly 5 lbs lighter by the end of summer. Whoo hoo. Doubt thats what she was going for anyway.
Now if she keeps it up, you should start reporting her anorexic behavior before she gets to that goal weight of 77 lbs. You already know what is going through her head but once she gets anorexic, they hide it and they hide it well. They tell everyone they ate with someone else and pack food away in their room. It's disgusting and yes bugs and rats are in their bedroom but to an anorexic, this is far better than being 100 lbs.
Perhaps you will be able to get her into a recovery program BEFORE she goes into the hospitals recovery program. But primarily your friend wont lose weight like this and if she is 100 lbs and you aren't in 5th grade writing this--she doesn't have fat to lose in the first place. So what she has is a mental problem.

well im glad you know it's very unhealthy--depending on her metabolism , her age .. she could lose up to 15-20lbs (if she doesn't exercise) .. but not only will she lose weight, she'll lose muscle as well (which is not good at all) and she could develop mess up her metabolism to where if she weighs in at 85-90lbs ... she probably won't be able to gain weight back w/o professional help aka develop anorexia...

She can't hold out on that all summer, she will die of starvation before the end of this time. To me this is stupidity on her part. Why not be a true friend and let her parent know. Go on you tube and look at the annorexic videos, you will see the bones of, I hesitate to say girls.

how tall is she first off? 104 lbs is a fine weight as long as you are 11-12 and up.
Um, she'll probably lose three lbs the first day and each day she does it, lose more.
