I asked this question before, and got an almost unanimous vote of : the fool that follows is more of a fool.

So here is my lead-on question : Why are we all following the Priests, Rabbi's, etc? Why are we not reading and leading for ourselves?

This question is not just for Christians and Jews, but for Muslims and followers of all other religions.

Read the writings for yourselves...

"Why are we all following..."
We are *NOT* all following - e.g. >a half BILLION are NOT following at all.

Here is my two part answer:

First, the amount of people actually involved in following religious leaders such as Priests, Rabbis and Ministers has declined greatly in the last 40 or so years. Look at the state America was in the 50's and the state it is in today (I can only compare through listening to those who were around in the 50s and 60s as I was born in the 70s myself). It looks apparent to me that following someone is not the issue, it is who or what is being followed that makes people foolish.

Second, a fool is a fool, whether they are a leader or a follower. It's six of one, a half dozen of the other. The issue here is: Is following George Lucas's fictional script for a movie very wise?

It sounds like you already know what you should do. He does not sound like a great guy to have adopt your kids if his hobby is posting ads for casual sex on the Internet. If he did not really plan on doing it he would have used a fake phone number too. It's hard ending a relationship even when you know you should but you must end it not only for you but for your kids too. Good luck to you. I hope you find someone who will respect you and not take you lightly. Honestly speaking. Even if you do something to make him afraid it will only be temporary until he figures out a way to cheat and not get caught. Women always try this and it just makes the men who do this enjoy it more. They feel a thrill from doing it. You will only train him to be a better cheater. Sorry. I have just seen it so many times. I am sure you won't listen to this advice and you will go back to him and he will cheat on you and you will feel like crap again. I wish I understood that behavior more.

no one is following one priests or the other, there own is to teach, reprove, correct and we are to do according to what is written not following the priests and so on some can mislead others if proper care is not taken, that is why the bible say:

Joshua 1:8 : This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

2 Timothy 2:15: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Ah yes, but when you read the Magic Books for yourself, you're still worshipping by proxy the man who invented god. Which makes you still a fool following a fool.

Better idea: THINK for yourself and throw away the Magic Book and Great Sky Father delusion.

" Stay away from the Pharisees; they are blind leaders. And if a blind person leads a blind person, both will fall into a ditch.”

This is not to say that God has not given to us, leaders and prophets to glean nuggets of truth from....But we certainly should use the example of the "Bold Berians" who searched the scriptures daily to see if what the Apostle Paul was teaching them was valid.

Good Point

Well Han Solo. If your referring to Obi-Wan Kenobi, you need to realize that maybe the people you think are fools are not fools at all.

They do it because it is much easier to be a part of a herd than to feed themselves. The same applies to politics.

I don't know - I'm running around in circles, following my own tail... so I suppose I'm a bigger fool than my tail is.
