I need to know so if I buy one I am not breaking any laws.

Butterfly knifes, gravity knifes and switchblades or other spring loaded knifes and weapons are illegal in most states and in any federal buildings or on any federal property in the US. Some karate weapons are also illegal. At the same time most states allow legitimate martial arts practitioners to carry their weapons in the trunk of their car to and from the studio or a place where they are doing a demonstration-hence that is the reason why you can still buy them. It goes without saying that if its in your car you should be going to or leaving from your school where you study and you should be studying Philippine martial arts. If it is in the trunk it is not readily accessible and you need to be able to show that you are a legitimate martial artist that trains in that type of martial art. The burden of proof is on you so having one on your person or in your car glove box is asking for trouble if you cant show or prove this.

i hear that they are illegal to carry around.. in any state... but ey aslong as you dont go swingin it around i dont think any onw would care... i think they are illegal cas with pratice tou can draw them very fast
