Consider this an excellent time to recognize that
both XP and XP-PRO are defective. I recommend
trying one of:

http://fedora.redhat.com
http://www.opensuse.org
http://www.debian.org
http://www.ubuntu.org
http://www.slackware.org
http://www.freebsd.org
http://www.opensolaris.org

Any of these will be more reliable, less susceptible to
viri, uses your hardware more efficiently, and they're
all free.

If money is a concern for you, and you don't play many video games, I strongly recommend Ubuntu Linux for you. There are numerous tutorials for how to install it. Download it here: http://www.ubuntu.com/ If you don't like it, you can always install Windows over it. I prefer Windows XP Pro to Windows XP Home, by the way. It seems like it gives you more control over the computer. Good luck!

It depends on what you use your computer for
If all you want is to search the web and use common applications like Microsoft office products. All you need is Home.
If you are more of a tech, then you need XP pro.
One feature I use alot in Pro is Remote desktop. to connect to my computer from work.
