To explain deeper things.
There was a time when the world was flat, wind didn't exist because we couldn't prove it also the existence of the Aura is recorded right back some 40,000 years ago by the Ancient Egyptians yet it has taken us until the recent 30 years to actually use some science to prove it. (The question is are we in fact more backwards now, this would say we are! DEFINITELY!)
Religion explains the idea of eternity which is hard to grasp. Our lives are all mundane things, everything in transitory yet the nature of the universe is opposite everything goes in cycles it is eternity. Also in nature nothing happens by chance nor by accident. Why do atoms act the way they do? Why are neutrons, protons and electrons spheres and so are the largest things planets, stars etc...? God would be the universal mind that has set the law of the way things are. Although we do live in this little bubble known as our world which is all transitory we are deeper since we have emotion and imagination.
God is like Love we are all conscious of it, we know it when we see it and cant explain it equally. Some things perhaps will never be explained. God is the label for that unexplainable concept of eternity and mystery. BEWARE however since religion is also a psychological warfare weapon used in politics, what is more dangerous than the enemy that doesn't fear death? Sadly all religions have been corrupted by the idea of the organization. Look at any religion Buddha's, Jesus's, Guru's none of their great prophets have EVER stated the need for a great unified religion. Politics is more dirty than sexy or money it is the quest for power!

Religion is the rules, regulations, customs and practises of a group of people who have got together to worship God. That is why we have so many different religions because different people want to worship God their way and not as others do.
Even if they all believe in the - One God - Like Christians, Jews and Muslims, the way they have decided to worship him is widely different, and some people will quite happily kill someone who is worshipping the same God, but doing it different from them!
Religion can be very strange and even very dangerous!

Religion is a business. People use religion to get rich, control the public, and give a false sense of hope that if you just attend church and donate 10% of your money then your life will be grand and everything will be ok.
Also it is a place to look like an idiot while dancing around in the isles to some bunk, boring, stupid music and to also listen to people yelling about the visions they saw.

Personally, i'm not religeous and think its a load of bull. However, i think it helps the faint hearted in life. They need something to beleive in. I dont know who in their right mind can beleive any of it! Its just ridiculous! Virgin Mary... Walking on water... earth made in seven days.... People just appeared!! Yeah..... okay!!??? Whatever!!!! Evolution, science etc makes alot more sense!! I
ts a shame these people are to ignorant to think about this though cos it causes so much war and death!!! Even if they could just except that they beleive one thing and others beleive another. Why do they have to fight over who is right?? live and let live eh???!!??

the point is that each person throughout i supposed to be an individual and has the control of themselves to believe in what they believe, to worship what they believe to be the truth, to give thanks for what they are thankful for and to appreciate everything they believe some(one/thing) has done for them so they can lead their life to the best of their ability and to the honour of their god.
belief, hope, comfort, whatever you want it to be
others join religions for control of the majority, to have power and to have the ability to blame their higher being for the belief they are doing right and good in killing and controlling thousands of inoccents. greed too!
