If the RSVP date comes and goes and someone doesn't respond, do you take that as a "NO?" or do you call them and say something like, "I'm putting the final touches on my dinner party and I'm just verifying with everyone whos coming and whos not." or something polite like that without pissing that person off.

you need to get on the phone and start calling people. Please be aware of the really lame excuses you will hear as to why the RSVP card wasn't sent.

No one responded? These people are lazy and rude. Just to teach them a lesson I would purposefully not be home on the date and time of the party. Since no one RSVP'd, then allegedly no one is coming to your party. Therefore, technically your party has been cancelled. If anyone complains later that they showed up at your house for the party and no one was home, just tell them "oh well you never RSVP'd, so I assumed you were not coming". Maybe that will teach them to always RSVP when asked. But my pessimistic self thinks they probably will never "get it".

Depends on the person. If it's someone I don't know very well or an acquaintance ... it's a no. If it's a friend who habitually is late on RSVPs, I give them a call.

Some people really mean to reply but loose the invite or forget or such. I like your verifying way of asking.

UNLESS it is a fund raiser type of thing, then calling them might feel like putting them on the spot.
