Of course I do. But, there are somethings we know we shouldn't discuss. It was really funny on election day a few years ago... we rode to the polls together and basically canceled out each other's votes! We both agreed that we had a right to do that and at least we voted! And that was where the discussion ended.

I'm agnostic. I don't understand the big deal about people being gay. Yes, I know it says in the Bible that being gay is wrong, but it says many other things are wrong too. I don't recall that it says that being gay is worse than some other sins, yet people continue to pinpoint this one. What about people who lie, steal, judge others, manipulate, don't honor their parents, etc. I just don't get why the focus on gay people. Most of the others I mentioned have rights, why is the Christian community so hellbent on keeping gays from theirs?

Only my kids and I seem to think that gay marriage is acceptable, everyone else in my family is very bigoted. Same with the friends. It's just one of those subjects that we don't touch on, but when we do the fur starts to fly.

I could and do. I have a buddy who is against it and when we talk it basically comes down to his thinking it is just not right...I can accept that is his feelings but pointed out that we do not legislate based on his feelings but on logic, equality and reality.

Basically we agree to disagree knowing that while we feel strongly about it we are not going to convince the other and that is ok..we are friends despite our disagreement on this one issue

st_louis_cardsfan> that is your opinion...I personally think you should conform to my opinion that gay marriage is ok, but that's life...everyone is free to think how he/she wants and trying to force everyone to think like you is the surest way to F up everything. Anyway good luck to you and yours

Some of my siblings think this way. We are all adults now and can allow each other to have our own opinions. We do have heated discussions about politics from time to time, but our good relationship takes priority over our political opinion at all times.

I and my husband both agree that it is wrong because it says it in the bible. But I also agree that it isn't my business either if someone chooses to do so. I don't judge them and I don't critisize them. I know a few gay people and we get along just fine. I just pray for them that's all.

I could. I'm not, but I think I could. I've been friends with people who didn't believe in evolution. I've also had friends who never flew in planes or left their hometowns so, yeah. I guess. But why?

Yes I am. Some of my friends are "Conservative Christians" and others disagree with me on other points.
We just don't talk about those differences but focus on the commonalities.

Yes my Mother. Our relationship is close. She does not know any gay people and her pastor told her gayness is wrong. I forgive her ignorance on this subject. We don't discuss things that would cause an argument between us. She is 75 years old after all.

The "flamethrower" language that gets going in here sometimes doesn't usually exist in the "real" world. I debate with my homosexual co-workers and neighbors, but so far nobody's thrown eggs, firebombs, or bricks. We play golf and attend cook outs together. They know where I stand, I know where they stand.
