does somebody know a freeware programme which locates files on your computer instantly (not like the windows search-funcion, which takes a long time..) There is a programm called AVA find but it has limitations in the freeware modus.. perhaps somebody knows a different programm? Thanks!

thanks for the answers so far.. Google desktop seems ok. but I am sometimes offline and basically need a programm with the same functions like the windows search function, it should be just a lot quicker..thanks for your answers

Google Desktop is good like others said, you just have to wait a long time when you first install it while it indexes your drive. After that it finds things very quickly.

Download Google desktop, Its absolutely free and really fast
But u have to wait for a few days after downloading until it's fully updated.....................
