I had one about 4 years ago. No problems. I've run one half marathon since then, plus a bunch of 5 and 10ks and am training for next years half again. Before the surgery it hurt like hell to walk, much less run. Now I get to feel all that other stuff hurting instead of focusing on my foot.

I had a bunionectomy about 10 years ago....wish I had done it earlier! Pain is almost non exsistent now!

I have not had the surgery myself, but my son's teacher had it about 2 years ago. She is older so she isn't 'running' but is walking for exercise everyday and hasn't had a bit of trouble.
