Coming in 2nd place in a Major Champianship at one of the hardest courses in the world is not doing bad. I find it funny that people expect Tiger to win every tournament and when he doesnt, he is doing bad. He is still the greatest golfer in the world and is still almost guaranteed to be in the money every time he plays. You cant say that about any other player.

Well being from PA and all, I know oakmont is an extremely tough course, but a very good place for a tournament. Tiger may have had two bogey's but he did come in second and people may think because he didn't win he didn't have a good day, but he still won over half a million dollars! Even though he won, Angel didn't have a perfect day either. If he wouldn't have gotten that birdie him Im pretty sure Tiger would have came out with a win. But Yesterday in Pittsburg it was hot. I didn't want to go outside! I also think the heat got to alot of the golfers! But Tiger had an off day but he did a wonderful job!

remember the best athletes dont always win....the best baseball players who hit over .300 still only get 3 hits out of 10 at bats.
you might not be giving angel cabrera any credit. as awesome as tiger woods is you still got to remember he is playing against professional golfers who may not be as good as tiger but they are just as skilled and talented as tiger. any pro can drop a 10 under round on a golf course. you wouldnt expect tiger to win the tournament if adam scott has a course record round do ya?
and with every course being different thats what makes the game challenging and even tiger isnt perfect.
golf is totally different from tennis where you can ask what happened to sampras? he lost?!?!
and that is because tiger is playing against the course and 100 pros that are capable of doing damage on any given day.
you should be happy that tiger didnt win because tiger needs more competition and then we can see the brilliance of tiger woods. and yes you are correct he will show the world why he will be the greatest when his career is over.

I think to be fair, Tiger gave an interview right afterward that he didn't have such a bad round. I mean he came second. Was thinking about it and even blog it (please come check out my blog).
I think Cabrera's approaches were really great. I mean he had lots of tap in buddies after good approaches. This course you've gotta get close to the hole, don't think it's easy to make a ten foot putt.
Otherwise, I think everybody was intimidated by the course and no one really hit 100 per cent because the penalty was too high for mistakes. Besides Tiger seems to change, getting to be father?

He got beat to keep his streak alive. Its funny how he can win majors if he is in the lead after 3 rounds, but if he is behind he cant close the deal. For people who say he is the best golfer ever. I wonder how many majors Jack won when he didnt have the lead after 54 holes.

Second in the US Open is nothing to sneeze at. He played solid golf, made a couple of errors and Cabrera had the tournament of his life. Nothing to worry about.
