Cats typically weigh between 2.5 and 7 kg (5.5–16 pounds); however, some breeds, such as the Maine Coon, can exceed 11.3 kg (25 pounds). Some have been known to reach up to 23 kg (50 pounds) due to overfeeding. Conversely, very small cats (less than 1.8 kg / 4.0 lb)[4] have been reported.

I have a mixed DMH cat. He has some maine coon in him. He weighs 13lbs. He gets unlimited dry food but only a 1/4 can of wet in the moring and at night.
My mom's cat is a manx. He gets the same food and has been consistantly around 20-22 lbs. Generally, some cats cant be given unlimited access to food. Try only giving 1/2 cup in the morning and at night. Play with him to exercise him.
Once a cat is neutered it sometimes happens that they gain weight due to the metabolism shift since the operation. If diet control doesn't work; take him to the vet with your questions.

16-19 sounds overweight to me..not skinny at all. 22-25 lbs sounds downright obese. "Diet" cat food takes time to work, you wont see a difference too quickly with cats that heavy. Either you have to limit the food intake or surrender them to someone who can afford them.

It depends on the breed of cats but unless you have a Maine Coon cat, 22-25 is way to heavy.

A better way to tell if your cat is a healthy weight it to look at the size of it. Purina do a good chart showing what to look for with regards to weight.

It really depends on the cat. Some cats are naturally heavier than others. Consult your vet if you are worried about their weight, they can give you tips on how to help your cats lose weight.

7 - 10 pounds. You need to feed them less all day. Don't starve them all day then feed them only once. Make them work for their food!!!! Put it up high so they have to jump to get it. I had mine on the dryer(vet told me) and it helps. Cats r lazy and hate working for food. Good luck!!!

it depend on how big the cat is. if the cat is smaller then 2-7 pounds normally, if the cat is bigger then 7-13 pounds.

cats arent supposed to weigh that high...
buy the same brand of food that you usually do and use portion control. put one cup of cat food in the bowl a day. and limit the amount of wet food you give them to like a half of a can. or risk their health of getting diabetes or cancer, etc.
