I read with interest the words of a farmer in California..He said he needed the influx of illegal aliens because he couldn't find any one in Cali that wanted to work in his fields for $ 14 an hour. Well the problem is this. Unemployment is centered mainly in large city's ,in the heartland and the east. There are millions of unemployed legal Americans that would love to work anywhere for $ 14 an hour. But the proximity to that job make their employment impossible ..If you are just getting by as it is you cant travel 2 or 3 thousand miles for a job.
So the farmer tells the world that working in the fields is a job Americans wont do and then pays illegal aliens $ 6 to 7 an hour and smiles all the way to the bank. Smoke and mirrors people ...more illegal alien supporter rhetoric,,,

Yes - the silence is deafening!

Take a look at what Bush is doing and saying. He will tell America anything they want to hear just to pass this amnesty bill.

The unemployment numbers would never include those who lost their jobs some while back and are no longer eligible for any government benefits - No, those go to the illegals! The unemployed have fallen off the records because they have been unemployed for years - not because they don't want to work, but because the illegals are taking their jobs.

Before I found my current job, I went through temp firms and did whatever jobs I could find to keep food on the table. I have a web tech certificate and many office/administrative skills, but there was nothing available. I was sent an hour away from home for a job in an office for a candle making company - most of the people with the jobs and benefits were not able to speak English fluently. While I worked, they talked in Spanish. They were placed in cushy computer chairs on normal computers while I was placed at the oldest computer with a standard non-adjustable rigid chair. The "boss - a man" came in to pinch butts and put his arm around his "girls". I told the temp firm on day 2 that they could take their job and shove it. I'm an American who speaks English and was discriminated against by illegals, not to mention the "boss" was a complete sleezebag!

Senate Votes to Grant Amnesty to Terrorists and Criminals:

Washington DC - In one of the crucial tests of the Senate immigration bill, 51 senators voted to grant amnesty to illegal alien terrorists and criminals. By a 46-51 vote, the Senate rejected an amendment offered by Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.) that would have barred illegal aliens who have been determined to have committed terrorist acts, or who have been convicted of a variety of criminal offenses, including gang activity, from eligibility for the proposed Z visa amnesty that would allow them to remain in this country indefinitely.

Yeah, I've noticed. Americans wouldn't be so prejudice against immigrants if our government would stop the illegals and control how many immigrants we have here. If they would put a foot down and control this we wouldn't have to worry about our jobs being taken by someone who isn't even a citizen. I have actually had a employer tell me that I couldn't get a job that I was wanting because all the illegal immigrant in the community had all the jobs in that area. He told me that the only jobs he had available was lower paying than what I had experience in. I couldn't believe he would even tell me that. Now our government is wanting even more immigrants here. It just makes no sense at all.

One has nothing to do with the other .. I don't even understand your point?? .. Unemployment right now is at an alltime LOW because the last 7 years have been rough on the welfare community so they had to get a J .. O .. B .. ..although..now that we have a majority liberal government highly unmotivated will quit their jobs, get knocked up and start taking 10% of my paycheck again ..awesome!

Also ...you state that we don't 'HEAR ANYTHING' about it now that they try to pass the amnesty bill ... well obviously you DO KNOW that the MEDIA controls the 'peeps' that you are referring to don't you?? ... Not the White House!! ...IF the White House WERE controlling the media we wouldn't have to constantly listen to some whiney, uneducated 8 yr old in an adult body complaining yet again about how Bush is the anti christ and that his mere presence on this earth has caused everything from from global warming to the incarceration of Paris Hilton.
god ..SHUT UP ALREADY!!!!

Regardless what the numbers are, they don't give you an idea of how many working people are without health care, receiving horrible wages, part time etc. It's much like how they love to say inflation is low..but why is my dollar worth 55% what is was 10 years ago? How come fuel and food are not in the inflation calculations? Because the numbers would suffer...that's why.

I am against this Amnesty Bill because it is ill
conceived and should be consider unconstitutional. If people, who enter our country illegally because they hate the conditions of their own country, would stay in their own country and
put effort into straightening it up this world would be a better place. As for the other answers to this
question not all people not working are lazy. Some
simply can't work for various health concerns.

There is 5% unemployment in America.

That comes to about 15 million Americans.

That also comes to the estimate of the number of illegal aliens in this country.

I would rather have 15 million Americans working and 15 million illegal aliens sent back to Mexico.

Also, teenage unemployment is at record highs because illegals are taking all of the low end jobs and they don't have to pay taxes on their wages.

No wait. The minimum wage just got rased, which means more employers will hire "guest worker"

Imagine what that will do for the unemployment rate.

Unemployment for Americans is at an all time low. The ones (5%) who aren't working right now simply don't want to, or think most jobs are beneath them. Every McDonald's on every corner in America has a "now hiring" sign. It's not that hard.

So, I fail to see what this has to do with immigration. I just don't want this amnesty bill because immigration should be done the right way, not rewarding criminals.

Now that you mention it, yes. What the heck is going on? I hate to feel so cynical all the time but this is so frustrating. I feel like I live in a foreign state, where I have no say in a darned thing.
