I have been a christian for a long time, growing up in a unsteady home i always knew that God was going to take care of me. I married a man I met at church after I got pregnant with him in highschool. I felt ashamed but I still believed there was a God and I put sooo much work into trying to better myself. Things started to get hard though, my children started to get sick, medicaid was giving me a hard time and my prayers were not being answered. I could not afford there medicines and it killed me to hear them crying when there ears started to hurt. They both need surgery still and i've still had no solutions to my problems. I've tried everything. I guess its been a few months since everything started happening so i just started to give up hope that there was a God. I still went to church but found myself , tapping my foot, falling asleep..just not wanting to be there. I told my husband about this and I how I had denounced God. Can any one help me? How can I regain my faith.

It sounds to me as though what you have really lost faith in is the church. This is not surprising. Too many churches are bound with the spirit of religion. God never intended for us to be religious. Jesus broke so many rules of religion while he was here on earth. He healed on the sabbath, spoke to the prostitues, touched and healed the leapers, and more.

God desires for us to have relationships, not religion. The gospels are full of teaching against religion. Jesus came to teach us how to love. How to love one another. If the church you are attending is not providing you with this type of teaching then I would encourage you to find a body of believers who take Jesus serious and are actually "doers" of the word.

God is still working. But we have to seek him. A life of following Christ is so much more than attending a service on Sunday. Church is what happens outside of the walls of a building.

My suggestion for building your faith would be to find a version of the bible that you can relate to and begin to read the Gospels. One of my personal favorites is The New Living Translation. You see, he tells us in his word that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

If you are not the type that likes to read I might suggest to visit www.victorywc.org

From there go to "grow", then "teachings and sermons". There are several series there that you can listen to online or download to your ipod, etc.

I see God working everyday in the lives of those around me. He is very much alive. He doesn't have more respect for any one person than he does another. He is knocking at the door, all you have to do is answer.

Yes Christians can lose faith, but they can regain faith. I myself have lost faith and come back to God. I won't give you a big long speech about how all things works out to God's will, and that our will is not always God's will. However, I will say this, your faith was in testing, like Job's faith was. If you want your faith back, you must first pray to the one you have denounced, and ask for Him to lead you. Also don't forget that the government "medicaid" tends not to work with God.

The next thing you might want to do is study the bible and see if you find something that might go against what you've been taught. I have found that you can't always believe what the preacher says. You may find you need to find another church to find your faith. Consider this your church time for the time.

The word FAITH can be described in the form of an acronym meaning. F= Forsaking A= All I = I T= Trust H= Him You must keep the faith which means you have to stop looking at the problem and look to the problem solver which is God. Remember: Faith is the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things which are not seen. (Heb. 11:1) Keep in mind that your faith becomes strengthen by hearing the word of God, so if you're not in a position to hear the word that may indicate why and that you're faith is getting weak by not hearing the word preached to you. (Being apart of a local church). Also you're faith will be tested at times as well, so stay in prayer and ask God to equip you for every occasion of your life. People can be a christian for years and fail to use the GIFT of faith which is a from God. Eph 2:8 Check this out, many people receive gifts from many people weather from birthday's, christmas, and special moments thinking of others and we use them without hesitation, but we do not use the gift that God gave us to use which is the same tool along with His grace that saved us right? I hope this was able to encourage you and help you use your FAITH ok. Have blessed day!

Everyone loses faith at one time or the other please don't give up this is the time to keep pressing in order to get your breakthrough stay strong it might seems as if your prayers will not get answered this is what the devil wants you to think so that he can defeat you and your purpose in serving God do not look at the situation but keep focusing on God and what you know He can and will do for you. You made a mistake and you corrected it and the shame was taken away because of your faith in God and the devil did not want that because he knows that God will be glorified through you and he is trying to bring shame and hardship in other ways. when you start getting the feelings of giving up just say devil i know who i am and i know who i believe in and i rebuke you in the name of Jesus. When ever you feel like not going to church just get up and go your break through is coming that is the reason these things are coming against you. Keep your faith in God strong because that is what is going to move mountains. You said you have tried everything now let him take it from you, surrender it all in faith.
Stay strong your children needs you to be strong
but do not lean on your own strength. God have a way of opening doors when things seems impossible. I will be praying for you and your family.

Gods Blessings Over Your life.

Brandy asked: "How can I regain my faith."

I would spend a little time each day in prayer and read a Psalm or two:

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." - Romans 10:17.

A huge part of the Christian life involves enduring afflictions as we carry our own crosses, we share in the sufferings of the LORD Jesus Christ, but Jesus asures His children He will never leave or forsake them, neither can any person take Christ from one of His people:

"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." - John 10:28.

Concentrate on the things that are lovely, even at times when it may seem difficult:

Philippians 4:8: - Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

There are several issues to address here.

1. How is it this church of yours has not offered to help? Something sounds fishy here.

2. There are free clinics out there, and you should have a county hospital that will treat them.

3. Our faith may indeed waver, but the Christians faith is bound to Christ's faith, and He does not waver.

Find a Christian counselor in your area; perhaps one that is not affiliated with your church you have been going to.

(Gal 6:1 KJV) Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

All you have to do is call upon the name of Jesus and ask forgiveness from Him and He will receive you again.
There are many reasons that we may not receive answers to prayer: unforgiveness, you must believe you receive the answer to your prayer when you ask even though you might not see it, waivering, that is believing one minute and not believing the next.
To strengthen your faith to receive answers to prayer, get into God's word about the area that you need answered prayer.

I'll be praying for you. Is it possible? Unfortunately yes. How to regain it, prayer. Sounds cliche, I know. First, though, have you asked forgiveness? I'm not trying to judge you, but if you've truly repented for your past, you need to forgive yourself. The health problems your children are experiencing are just testing from God (think of Job). Will you turn to Him, or lean on your own understanding? Remember, God won't put you through anything you can't handle without giving you a way out.

Just be still and trust God will work everything out for the good. That's the toughest thing for any human to do.

God is there for you and his answers are not always in the form we want them in. It is your goverment that is keeping your kids from surgery, not God. Have you wrote to your goverment about this. I would make a big stink. But your are not the first to lose faith in God. King David sinned and turned his back on God, But finally King David saw his joy was gone. He prayed return to me the joy of thy salvation. God hasn't given up on you and he is still there waitingg for you to ask forgivness. Look at Job in the bible. When satan took everything from him he never said God is unfair or not real. Job continued to praise the Lord no matter what happened.

Just keep trusting in God. If you can continue to put your trust in God even through the toughest of trials, your reward will be that much greater in heaven. Those who are loyal and faithful will become stronger and more joyful. So ask God for comfort and peace. Peace is a fruit of the Spirit. I will pray for you.
