Why does this happen? I can hear it clicking with every step I take and if I am in a very quiet place others can hear it as well. It doesn't hurt but I'm worried as I don't want to be hobbling about with a zimmer when I'm older. I went to the docs about this but he didn't seem too bothered.

Doctors are never bothered about things less they are affected. It`s all in a day`s job for them.Tell your GP you`d like to be referred to a specialist to check it out. otherwise he`d never do anything about it.Conditions like that tend to start out unpainful and then get worse as time goes on becoming painful and terribly complicated.

I suffer the same too!!Both my daughters have it and with my youngest they put her in a splint to seperate her legs when she was a baby.As they didnt have the technology of scans when i was a baby.I think you should go back to the doctors i itntend to,i do think it may cause the early onset of problems as mine aches a little now and never used to.
I think with things like this you end up with hip replacements when you are older because it dosent get detected early enough!!If you are not happy see another gp and they will probably refer you to see somebody about it.

I recommend you see a chiropractic specialist. They can find out what is going on in your hip and start giving you treatment. Chiropractors are good preventative doctors. Many conditions can be stopped before they become a serious problem.
