Christians are allowed to drink, but not to get drunk.

Of course, the safe thing to do would be not to drink at all, since it can be really hard to stop, and it's also sometimes difficult for a person to recognize when they're starting to get a buzz.

1 Corinthians 6:10 is a great example of the Bible warning against drunkenness. But the Bible never says a person can't drink at all.

Ephesians 5:16-18 tells us Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit."

I don't believe this means Christians can't drink ANY alcohol. The first public miracle Jesus performed was turning water in to wine, so I certainly don't believe it's a sin to have a glass of wine with dinner or a beer after working in the yard, for example. But, as with anything else, we each have to follow the Holy Spirit in our own lives. Some are convicted that drinking is a sin, so it is for them. If God doesn't want you to drink, HE will convict you through the Holy Spirit and you won't want to.

Actually Paul told Timothy to stop drinking water and to drink wine instead -- does that answer your question?

Christians should use alcohol in moderation -- not get drunk. Still the Bible shows that having a good time with alcoholic drinks is one of God's gift to men.

Perhaps, in Isaiah, God condemns those that diluted beer so as to sell at higher profit!

Ask if more is needed!

Yes you can drink, but why would you? If you're putting yourself in a situation that you wouldn't want another Christian to see you in when you're drinking, then I'd question the reason. If you're having a glass of wine with dinner, not a problem. Just because you CAN drink, doesn't mean you HAVE to, or even should in some cirucumstances.

The Bible has warnings about drinking. Especially to those in authority. Wine and strong drink were used for medicinal purposes. Mainly, don't drink too much. I choose not to drink at all.

In the bible, it says nothing about drinking alcohol is bad. However it does allude that being a drunkard is not desireable. As an Atheist, I'd say that's pretty sound advice.

Drink is not forbidden, neither is drunkeness, as the disciples of Jesus were plowed under by the sacrimental wine (24 ounces each, as required by tradition), just shunned here and there.

God created grapes with a coating of wine and an inside of sugar and when these two elements find each other they ferment naturally and make wine or booze.

Christians can drink alcohol. Jesus turned water into wine at the Marriage Feast in Cana.

As an answerer above mentioned, drinking in moderation is not forbidden to Christians. Drunkenness is a sin though....

Jesus Christ's first public miracle was the changing of water to wine at the wedding feast in Cana, when they had run out of wine. He not only created more wine, but I'm sure that He partook of some of it Himself as not to offend the hosts of the wedding feast.

People love to say " Jesus drank wine," and therefore indulge themselves. No. I don't drink any alcohol ever for any ocassion. Christians are always being watched by unsaved strangers, unsaved family, and unsaved friends. My entire life I have sought to be a godly example and not trip anyone else up who is struggling with God by ruining my testimony that God is more than enough to fulfill their needs. And He is. Because of my faithfulness I have never had to tell anyone that I'm a Christian, they know it and I constantly get stopped by perfect strangers asking about the light that goes before me, or asking me to pray for them, and I do. The favor of the Lord shows Himself in my daily life NOT because I am special, because I'm definitely not any more special than you are in His eyes. But, I am obedient. He tells us in Galatians 5 to be filled with the spirit; and in Romans, not to fulfill the desires of the flesh. It really just depends on how serious you are with either following other's interpretations, or getting into the Word of God and studying not just one miracle performed, but studying His whole Word and following it.
