Now, Im christian, and I know that many scientific thereois have big gaping holes that people just ignore, but thats really no reason to believe in God instead. Sory mate, but this is a conflict question and youlll just get yelled at by a million atheists and get one or two theists backing you such as myself. Good luck.
And Jack V, thank you for some clarity towards defying stereotypes and prejudice. I appreciate it.
Mike H, there may not be proof for a specific god, but theres plenty of logical proof for some divine force. The problem is knowing which one.

Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth and then he farted and life came out hahahahahaha
why you ask oh let me see well Gods a fairytale with no prof and contradiction between him and his so called qualities
oh and those theories are proved that's what makes them so so beyond religion that and the fact that they are still trying to answer question that religion just ignores like what was before the big bang
just a quick question what was before God or what did he do before the universe or why did he create us yes every time you ask a priest the answer is the same he was always there etc etc etc
so i have a good choice
1 scientific "theories" (most have been proved and replicated you should do a little research on this unless your to afraid to start to think and see truth )
2 God no prof no evidence no logic
hmmm difficult choice i think I'll go with nr 1

Because the bible is ridiculous. I've said it a million times. Talking snakes, the world thrust into evil by eating an apple, talking donkeys, parting of seas, cramming hundreds of thousands of dangerous animals on a boat (including animals from the Arctic and Australia), a tower creating all the languages and races of the world... I could go on.
It's ridiculous. Those who do not believe in the bible are NOT choosing darkness (hey, I used to be a Christian for over 20 years so I think I know what I'm talking about), they're just choosing common sense. It's a ridiculous book of old pagan myths rewritten, omissions, mistranslations, etc. If the bible made logical sense, I'd have no problem believing in it. But it doesn't.

Just because we cannot prove some theory's at the moment does not by any means that the proof will not someday be found......just because we haven't found the answers doesn't mean that they don't exist......
If I take by faith that every thing I believe in will some day be heir apparent then who are you to question that faith.....at least Science comes up with some pretty reasonable answers....that can be proven by the way.....
Show me One provable instance that faith in God is or will be heir apparent any time soon.....all you have is literally your Faith. I in the meantime have some pretty justifiable proof in my beliefs.

Acceptance of theories based on peer reviewed, emprically proven research and experimentation does not equate to faith. It is fact.
I can deny your little creator thing because he does not exist. There is not one shred of proof, despite 2000 years of people trying to convince us he is there.
This may come as a shock to you, but the bible is a book , a fiction, written by men. The new testament is the heavily edited version, with between 50 and 300 eye witness accounts of Jesus when he was alive deliberately left out and destroyed by the Nicean Council, leaving only the Pauline version intact. At least one gospel (John) was not written by a personal witness of Jesus. Acts, and most of the epistles, including the much later addition of Revelations, were also not written by people who personally observed Jesus during his life.
Quoting the bible is of no use at all, because it has demonstrably been found to be in factual error for much of it (witness the different versions of the geneaology of Jesus. At least one of them must be wrong), and inherently contradictory in so many places.

I find it interesting, at the very least, that many Christians will ask us how we can believe something that has no proof. I'm tempted to leave it at that especially since this is a pre-coffee answer.
I ask Christians, why do you not believe in Zeus and Hera... or Odin and Loki... there are books about them too, could it be possibly the weekly brainwashing (daily in strongly religious families).
Atheists have the courage to face the fact the when a loved one dies, It's over...no instant replays, no hope of future reunions. We are humble enough to admit that we don't know all the answers.

This is silly. I don't have "faith" in scientific theories. Show me your data and I consider it. I do find many scientific theories to be quite convincing but I am completely willing to adapt to new information that arises. Theists on the other hand require no proof and many cling to dogma without the slightest shred of evidence and refuse or unable to adapt to changes in information when it contradicts their ancient holy texts. There is far more proof of evolution and the big bang than for any theistic claim that I am aware of. Believe what you want but don't go around forcing it on others, especially when you don't have a shred of evidence for it. I feel that learning sheds light on the world for me rather than darkness. You are the one that is confused in my eyes.

Why don't you have faith in Mithra instead of a cheap knock off?
Why is YOUR faith the only one that matters?
BTW, scientific theory at least asks questions, rather than giving half-a**ed answers and stifling inquiry. And the theories have plenty of proof to back them up, you've just never taken a science class. :P

You are an uneducated fool. Read a book that does not contain the word bible in the title, you may learn something. But its doubtful.
I find your rant about Atheism very offensive, if I wrote that kind of drivel about Theists I would never hear the end of it.

Unproven theories? So confused? Sorry but I do not believe in fantasy stories.
As much as I want to explain to you, I hardly think that I will change your mind or even see my point. So rather than waste my time giving you an answer, my comment to you is this. You believe what you want to believe and I will believe want I want to believe.
If you want to believe that we just appear out of nowhere FINE.
But don't force your ideas or beliefs in my face
