If your kittens have claws, they are probably scratching small holes in the liner. I stopped using liners a long time ago; too much trouble. You may want to try scoopable litter instead of clay, and sprinkle baking soda on the bottom of litter box. I don't think it is possible to have a TOTALLY odor free box, but regular scooping (I do it twice a day) and regular complete washings of the box will reduce odor. Good luck!

I just wanted to add onto basbleu's comment. she is totally right with using the bakingsoda on the bottom of the tray, but i too have the same problem with the smell still- i've tried all different kinds and the best is the multi kitty litter, plus i went the extra length to try out the litter box with the cover over the top and to tell you it really did work wonders for me! I sometimes (on a hot day) get a faint smell, but really it was a lot better than what i was smelling before... (i cleaned my litter out as much as you did...) but i still do the same amount of cleaning and i rarely (once every 2 weeks or so) smell anything now.. its like having my apartment back and not smelling like my kitties (even though no one else smelled it... lol)

You throw out the whole thing every day??? That's alot of money you are throwing away. All you have to do is scoop out the waste daily and replace with new litter after scrubbing the box about 2 times a month. Inbetween changes, add some baking soda to the litter.

do no longer eliminate the tray thoroughly reason she'll initiate doing her company anyplace the clutter container advance into. positioned yet another tray outdoors for somewhat and after she starts off using it take it away and he or she'll do it in that spot. poor grass. or in simple terms pass away her outdoors for an afternoon on a leash and sometime for the time of that element she'll do it outdoors. try this for like 3 days and he or she'll get used to the recurring. then you certainly would be waiting to enable her out much less and much less situations.

I think that tidy cat makes some kind of deodorant powder that you can put sown on the bottom and a little on top........baking soda will work too and be sure to wash the box with bleach water--rise well--at least once a month!

We have an enclosed litter box with a door flap and a charcoal filter. It keeps any odor at bay.
