Simple,it is not about the food you eat or the attitude you have.believe me.
It is about the way you sleep ,and where you sleep.
every thime you wokeup from a nightmare, you will find your heartbeat racing.this is due to the body reaction the a clot in one of your body parts.so you have to make sure that you have a good circulation of blood flowing,eg: dont cross your legs or sleep sideways(if your bed is lousy).
Make sure you do not have a lot of plants enclosed in your room at night, and make sure there is a good vendilation.
shortness of breath and blood clot are the scientific reasons for nightmares.
the unexplianable part is that of a place that is huanted.

Some people remember them, others don't.
It's got something to do with your level of consciousness before you wake up.
Good or bad dreams depend upon what is on your mind the day before. Little pockets of memory get 'stitched' together by our sub-conscious mental co-ordination centres to form 'stories' which we call dreams. Sometimes the content is so jumbled that the mind improvises by adding other bits in an effort to make the story 'logical'. The result can be fantastic or horrific....but it is not real, only a dream.
Of course food can affect our dreams. Rich food before sleeping will upset our whole metabolism and trigger off brain behaviour which is erratic, making it difficult for our co-ordinating centres to produce nice gentle stories, instead we get disturbing energetic dreams and often nightmares.

I am willing to bet that Dr Phil could answer this question for you but apparently you have a huge dislike for that 'ol doc from the south..... that being said, I think sometimes you just have bad dreams, sometimes you have good dreams and sometimes you have no dreams - no real reason for them.

It's like anything else in life, it depends on your attitude towards your life in general. Someone who has an overall negative attitude is going to remember "negative" dreams, someone who is overall optimistic, will remember the "positive" dreams more.... I have heard before that more creative people tend to be prone to nightmares more, though....
