I fail to see how it was a sacrifice for a god to fake death for three days, which were actually more like 40 hours or so.
If the movie "Armageddon" had happened in real life, Bruce Willis would have been a far better example, in that he 1) made a REAL sacrifice (by actually dying, i.e. GIVING UP his existence), and 2) saved far more people than Jesus, who according to the legend only saves a fraction of humanity and lets the rest rot in hell for eternity. Bruce batted for 1.000; Jesus' batting average was below the Mendoza line.
Anyone retorting that "Armageddon" is fiction should receive the Y!A Irony Award of the Year.

Being tortured first is exceedingly 'sacrificial' yet i'm particular he became never the only one....genuine human beings probable do for others perpetually. in my view, I nonetheless have not desperate if dying or torture is worse...yet nor is the 'merely right' sacrifice. besides, if it extremely were, why are we nonetheless all sinners and why have terrible activities like the Black dying and the Holocaust nonetheless occurred? Edit: Hmmm, in case you interpret it as 'out of a variety of deaths...that's the 'merely right' one-being tortured and mocked by utilizing your fellow voters, i'm particular the Christians who have been burned at stake after being accused of witchcraft felt an identical way. yet out of all the sacrifices made, it became extremely not the 'merely right' one and the 2d part of my reaction nonetheless stands...why are we nonetheless punished if Jesus became the sacrifice he became meant to be... Edit: discord, i don't think of any conflict vets think of they 'deserved' to die and that i doubt the civilians who died whilst attempting to maintain others concept they deserved dying the two.

I would say Osiris.
Oh, HUMAN history? Well, what about the men who died in World War II? Or all those free-thinkers who were burned by the inquisition rather than recant what the inquisition called heresy.
Or to make it even more real, every mother who ever died giving birth to a child.

Navy Corpsmen during the WWII. No contest.
Their bravery and compassion has earned them more Medals of Honor than any branch in the Military.

There is no such thing as a "selfless" act. One's motives may be what most would consider "good" or "bad," but no one does anything without motivation.
