It depends on the state where you live. What you are describing that is happening to these dogs is torture. SO you decide, if you were being tortured, would you prefer to live in torture or be put out of your misery? Whatever the ASPCA does, is better than what is happening now. And if you wait the dogs will become mean and be unadoptable for sure.

If you call the ASPCA and file a complaint against your brother in law and they come out and find that he is not properly caring for his dogs, then yes he is going to get into trouble and he should as he is not caring for them. It really all depends upon where you live in regards to what the ASPCA will do with the dogs. Some shelters euthanize them upon intake while others will either give them a certain amount of time to be adopted or will try to get them into a rescue. Try and contact Pit Bull rescues to see if any of them can take the dogs. But to be very honest, most Pit Bull rescues are at their max and may not have room for them. There are some rescues out there that are not breed specific and they may take the dogs. While euthanizing is very sad and tragic, what you brother in law is putting those dogs through is far worse. Euthanizing is a painless shot while living in a cage way too small and only occasionally being fed is far worse. He is doing alot of emotional and physical damage to those dogs that will take a long time to heal should they be lucky enough to get out of there.

Take the Pit Bulls to a Pit Bull rescue organization. The dogs will not be put down there.
But in answer to your question, a dead dog is better than a hungry caged one. Being caged and hungry is NOT a life and I am frankly disgusted that anyone could abuse an animal in such a way. PLEASE take these dogs to a Bully rescue organization. If they are good natured dogs they WILL find homes.

that depends on where you live and if tehy are illegal but a lot won't if they haven't been used for fighting and pass the test for temperment they will often be placed in new loving homes.
A dead dog would be better if they are being kept teh way you say they are suffering. Just an example you try to tay in a very small area, not be fed, no excercise, imagine the health isues, the tight musles while they have muscles due to lack of excercise, turning mean due to the fact of being kept that way.
if they were put to sleep it would be much more humane than being left to die this way. tehy may even attempt to kill each oter for the room and to feed tehmselves.
PLEASE GET THEM OUT OF THIS SITUATION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

For this particular breed (my absolute favorite), I would rather see the dogs dead than living in that torture. They are in fact a highly sensitive breed, and this is completely unacceptable.
Generally the ASPCA doesn't put dogs to sleep unless they have severe health or behavior problems.
Thanks for looking out for these sweet babies! I know you will do the right thing!

These dogs will be tested on their personality & if they pass the test they will NOT be euthanized. If they are aggressive, they will. Look at it this way, If they are aggressive & they end up being euthanized, will ending their torture by the way they are being kept, better that living a life like they are now living? I think so!!!! I am one that doesn't have problems with Pits if they are raised & kept properly. My daughter has three inside Pits & they are nothing more than big babies!!! Please call the authorities & save these poor dogs!!!!

No but if so, then your brother in law is not the only one being cruel to animals. But I'm pretty sure they will just feed the dogs, take good care of them and try finding them a new home with people who LOVE & CARE FOR THEIR DOGS.

You know what, you should take them from him yourself. DOnt call the ASPCA bcuz the dogs just need a newhome, not death. If you are that detecated, you should take them and keep them, or find them a home where you can regularly check up on them to make sure that they are getting the proper care.

What your brother in law is doing is wrong ...dangerous for the dogs and anyone who might come in contact with a hungery ,thristy and ticked off pitbull who may only be trying to get food for her pup..
Look in your phone book for a no kill shelter ..explain to them what your BIL is doing .. If they go to a regular shelter most likely they will be put down just because of their breed...
Contact one of the following orgs .. they may be able to help you get those dogs out of there or know of someone who can
