Our two old Bassets are so mellow, it wouldn't be necessary. I think some groomers have to use a soft muzzle with some pets. Some vets do administer a drug to calm some dogs down before an examination, but I doubt groomers have that option.

i replaced into commencing as much as additionally think of there replaced into some canines groomer conspiracy / secret occurring with the aid of fact the previous few circumstances my mixed breed has back from our canines groomers, he has long gone out of his thank you to discover water right this moment and then set there and drink finished bowl after finished bowl. The comments right here has positioned my strategies at relax, although, i'm particular that is probable those dryers they have and use, and the undeniable fact that in spite of if water replaced into made available to my little JoJo, he's in all probability too excited to drink any at the same time as there. I wasn't thinking a sedative, although, i replaced into thinking they have been giving canines something to cut back urination, i.e. salt pills or another dehydrator. yet now I comprehend how ridiculous that sounds, and this would properly be an excellent subject, with the aid of fact we like the way he seems while he's finished getting groomed with the aid of those human beings we've been using those days--Sandys Pawz of San Marcos, Calif.

None that I have ever used. I'd be pretty upset to find out that they did without my knowledge first. If you have a dog that needs to be groomed and has anxiety you could talk to your vet about giving it something before it goes to a groomer though.

I'd not use a groomer that did. But, my dog is docile and loves to be handled. If a dog owner has an aggresive dog, they should muzzle it or use a relaxant prescribed by their vet before expecting a groomer to handle it.

No. Never. A groomer will not drug your pet and you should run a mile from any groomer that so much as suggests that.

Some may use a topical sedative to relax the animal, but many do not.
