For an English or Lithuanian speaking person, Hebrew is more difficult to learn than another Indo-European language because, even when you get further into it, there are not many clues as to word meaning. There are many so-called 'correspondences' between the various IE languages so that you can have a good idea of what a new word means, whereas Hamito-Semitic vocabulary offers few of these. The good news is that the grammar is not too difficult. The alphabet has fewer letters than the Latin alphabets used for most IE languages and a few hours is all you will probably need to grasp most of the new letters. However, in common with Arabic, Hebrew does not normally show short vowels except in religious and some other works (this is done by 'pointing' - a system of dots and dashes placed above or below the relevant consonant), so pronunciation from the written text is at first a bit of a struggle.

Any language is difficult to learn.
Think about all the words that you have to learn.
More than 250 000 for sure. And then you have to learn the writing.

Then if you don't practice it everyday, you will probably not get it right.
Hebrew does not has things in common with English, since it uses a whole new array of signs. Good luck.

If you are really want to learn something, you must put in your mind that you can! I tried to learn Arabic - it seams very difficult. But if you are taking step by step you'll get to understand how it is build and from that on is only learning more words and practice speaking, writing, reading. Any language you can learn if you are determined. Good luck!
