it depends on you.

if the person is some one you don't mind having around then the time is indefinite.

but like the old saying goes, "Guests like fish start to stink after three days."

just decided what you can tolerate and stick to your guns, it is rarely advisable to put your self out for a guest if they have out stayed their welcome.

You have not mentioned if this guest was invited or not. Did they just show up or did you know the guest was coming?? I will assume you knew the guest was coming. In that case, i would say the longest a guest should properly stay is no longer than one week. Most would not stay that long, but if it was a planned event, than some would. For instance, when i go to see my brothers out of state ( they live quite a distance away, and i only get to go see them maybe every 5 years) than i would plan on spending a week with them while i am on vacation. Now if i was going to see the in-laws who also live out of state from me but only one state away, so i go more often, than we usually spend about 3 days. I hope this helps you decide how long certain guests can stay without overstepping their boundries.

For non-related, it's best not to have them as guests. If you can't avoid it, 3 days max. For parents and siblings , 2-3 weeks maximum. Same with grown children.

Until you (the home owner) starts feeling that they have over stayed their welcome, then i would say its time for them to leave. Also the time varies from person to person, for myself i would say, relatives - 2 weeks and friends - 1 week. Only on rare occasions this can change, like for example my father stayed for one month but he lived abroad so that was ok plus i hadn't seen him for a long time.

2 weeks max unless they are visiting from overseas for the birth of your baby or something & they are there to help out. It's a very personal choice but 2 weeks is usually pushing the friendship unless you have seperate sleeping/living quarters for them. I would say 1 week if you have children or you don't & they do.

Whatever amount of time was negotiated prior to their arrival plus three days.

If there was no such negotiation, then they aren't staying at my house... as I always have "the talk" before their head hits the pillow.

I like my privacy.

Hope this helps!

sure, if he( you) can take care of to pay for it, lodges are extra advantageous because of the fact that is not an imposition and promotes independence and no person has to prepare dinner, substitute mattress linens etc. yet whilst she insists then 2-3 days.
