I have seen several ironic questions asked in R&S, some very humorous. Why is it that absolutely always there is some sanctimonious reply?

eg. Does Got hate just me, or is it everyone?

Somebody will reply "No, God loves all people, he does not hate anyone" - I can just hear the whine.

So, enlighten me, please?

Actually the problem is on both sides with cheap shots being taken all around( reminds me of an old bar) I have been at some questions started by atheists that was nothing but a long diatribe that unless you agreed wholeheartedly you were the brunt of sarcasm. There have been some "theistic " ones that asked questions they didn't want answers too. It is bad manners. ( did you mean ironic like in the Alanis Morrisette song?)

The fact of the matter is, it's really hard to know whether a person is serious on here or not. I mean, in the case of the WSIDR, the What Does This Mean Moron, the It Sucks to be Me Dork, and that whole group, EVERYONE knows that their questions are jokes.

Some of the others on here are a little harder to figure out.

And it isn't just the religious who misinterpret questions. Everyone else does too.

It's a little hard to convey emotion in typed words, that's all.

Hmm, I was just thinking, Christ died on a cross of wood, nailed to it.
Of all the occupations He could have chose, He chose to be a carpenter...working with wood and nails.
I suppose He had all kinds of opportunity to think about what He knew He would do for us.
God HAS a sense of humor. Maybe sometimes we do not.

It is just the way we have been brought up, to fear anything that seems too christian. I as a Christian believe that: "God loves all people, he does not hate anyone" But the cliche also stirs my stomach a little. It does sound very fake and automatic. However these replies are true...

It's hard for any of us to know whether certain questions are meant to be humor or not. Some questions on here aren't funny even though the writer meant for them to be like,"If Jesus was gay, could I have a gay orgy with Him?" Some "funny" questions are just disrepectful.

Well.....no two individuals are the same! People perceive things differently. I would say that variety is the spice of life.

I don't know. The internet is a scary big place. I don't know if you're seeing us be sanctimonious as much as you see us feeling concern.
We just care,....

I don't think they actually read the questions at this point.

There's nothing religion to remove any trace of rationality from some folks I'm afraid.
