I had a Christian call me a fool Atheist because I said Adam had daughters. She swore Adam and Eve only had two sons and no daughters. She didn't even know Adam had Seth. To claim to be a Christian How can you account for your like of knowledge of the Bible? Dont you find It surprising how many people say they know the Bible who have never read it?

Because most religious people (not all, but most) like religion because it means they don't have to think. And they extend that to mean they don't have to read their own holy text. Their preacher will tell them what's in it! They have no curiosity.

Part of the reason people become atheists, though, is that they ARE curious, and they WANT to know.

I'm an atheist, and I've read the Bible cover to cover. I know more about it than any Christian I know, expect my boyfriend, one of the few curious and educated Christians.

In the first place, because a person doesn't know all the words of the Bible, even scholars do not, doesn't mean they're not Christians.
Don't feel to smug, that you know the Bible better then Christians, it only shows that you know but, can't understand. So, there's something missing there, isn't it?

And, "most atheists" as you say, are not familiar with the Bible, unless you have some type of proof of that.

The Bible is a book of rules and regulation written by man, It started around 300 B.C. and has been added to many times, actually the Bible, to account for all the letters and books of the Bible, would be overpowering for anyone to comprehend. There is simply to much to account for so, they only put in what can be understood. So, your wrong also.

Don't try to overpower someone with knowledge that you think you know, it can come back to bite you. If your a philosopher and want to argue, go to a seat of power and argue with the experts.

Why do you pick out this fool to represent us all? Christians come in 2 catagories, mature and babies. Mature Christians know more of the bible obviously. It's a long book and takes many times reading it to really have a working knowlegde of it. That person might have been a new Christian. It amazes me how some Atheists give the rest a bad name by zeroing in on whatever minute flaws they can dredge up on Christians and ignoring the fact that there are millions of intelligent, caring, and courageous Christians out there. Geesh, how would you feel if I judged all of you by Black Atheist's answers?

I wasn't calling Betty Boop a fool. I was refering to the person she was talking about who didn't know the bible yet swore that Adam and Eve had no daughters. If you don't know then say you don't know.

I see you have made a judgment of all Christan's by one.
Your statement is not true I know many Christians that know the Bible verse to verse, Forward and backward.
She should not have called you a fool, know one has knowledge of everything although there are many that know the Bible well, But for the most part I have seen many Atheists on here that twist the words or have totaly the wrong meaning of the Bible and it is not true to say that is knowlage.
It is true that there are many christians that have much more to learn as I do, I learn more every day, but it is not good to call someone a fool because they don't know yet, It would be better to open the Bible and show them.

If some bloke in a dress tells you that you are a miserable sinner what you do is say "Really? Gosh, I'd better try to do better then. Hmm, what can I do to make amends? I know! I'll go round telling everyone *else* how bad they are!"

What you don't do is do some research in the very document they claim accuses you of these terrible sins. Because you might not believe what it says about seven-headed monsters and all the various varieties of angel.

Besides, most atheists wold dearly love to believe - even if just for the comfort it would give you - but it's just so far-fetched and ridiculous, they can't. Doesn't mean they didn't do the investigations before they decided what the did believe, tho!

thats sad fact. most atheists know a lot about the bible from hear say others study it oddly enough. but athiests mostly know only a few facts out of the bible, usually ones they dont understand and try to twist around to make christians look ignorant, im not saying this to anyone directly, just my experience. christians need to study more and ask god to interpret the meaning to them. also, as a christain we tend to forget some minor detail in scripture b/c we are always looking for a deeper meaning, or what it means for us today, what piont is god trying to make for us to live by?? so i can undrstand the reason we forget some things and remember others.

I am glad atheists are familiar with the Bible. That way when the events in Revelations come to pass, they will already know the truth as it unfolds. Hopefully then they will open their eyes to what Christians have been saying and accept that which they have repeatedly rejected.

Most atheists have studied the bible in an attempt to find a faith that is suitable. I have only read the bible as a child and tossed it out as complete lies. There is no science to it, and it still doesn't make sense. My fiance is also an Atheist, he has studied every religion and still comes up with no viable religion, only tremendous knowledge space wasted that could be put towards better things.

Becoze they are curious to know the truth but they can't find this from Bible but always they found contradictions in it. When they tried to search the satisfactory answers from Missioneries, priests, pasters they always become disappointed becoz they can't have appropriate answer from them. So they became athiests.

But,,, but if they read and try to search from Quran/Islam, I am 100% confident that they can have very logical answers of their every question whatever they have bear in their mind.

Look it's simple, most people are lazy and never read more than the TV magazine. Most lazy people are opinionated and therefore need a "creed" to project their beliefs on.

Many of these people are Christians, therefore too lazy to read the book they accept their local church's spin on the events and never try to know what they are talking about is true.

Fanaticism is easy, reading books is hard work.

Apparently...
