I can't stand ignorance (the previous answers). Anyway, besides the fact that I believe you should definitely love the skin you're in, and totally flaunt and be proud of it. . .to answer your question: use AMBI products. It's a line of skin care (mostly skin tone creams) made for Black people, and works very well, giving you lighter, even-toned, smooth skin. And you just stop using when you are at your desired shade. It's in your local beauty supply store. Try it, hope that helps. :)

I suppose accepting your skin & being comfortable with -- even proud of -- it , is a no - no ? ( sigh ! )
A 'good complexion' is one which has smooth, evenly-colored skin , without blemishes , not just a fair one .
Anyway , regular bleaching at a salon should give good results , as will lemons , yoghurt , tomato used with infinite patience . Go for it !
An interesting aside : do you know pregnant Indian women are given saffron in their nightly drink of milk , in a bid to get 'fairer' babies !

Whitening cream is really popular in the Arab world too. But I don't know why you would want to lighten your skin, dark folk are sexy too.

Some of these answers make me literally sick. You should embrace your dark skin. It's beautiful.
