i feed her esbalic milk the most expensive kind,, it's like 35 dollars. but the vet says it's good for her,, i do help her use the bathroom and stuff. like i said i got the puppy from a family member. I had rather take her home with me then have her in a spca where they kill them after 3 months or so ,, she just open her eyes last week and have been very active she also can hear a little she starts to follow me a lillt bit now,, she even getting her little dog hops now.,, me and my fiancee decided to get her some insurance next montrh like we got our cats on,, they are going to be join with barnfeild. my fiancee thinks i spoil her too much though cuz i always hold her are let her sleep with me,, but lately he told me she needs to get use too the floor,, and when i let her get on the floor she started to get her balance on her paws more. so i though he was right,, we read on here that if a puppy cries,, just let them and then they will stop ,,

She doesn't give a squat about mom!!!
I would start making mush for her to eat. Teeth should be starting to come in so its time to start weining anyway. The milk may be upsetting her stomach. She should be able to lap up water on her own.
Go ahead and hold her. THe rest of the family is gone she will need to bond with someone. SHe will be depending on you for socializing and training. Don't disappoint her.
Get her spayed and the hernia taken care of all at once.

Assuming that the puppy has been weaned, and you are feeding it milk or puppy formula from a dropper, and there is an adult supervising, here goes.
This is an old remedy. Get a wind up type clock that ticks. (Don't set the alarm). When you put the puppy to bed, put the clock, ticking, in bed with him/her. The ticking sound is soothing to the puppy, like it's mother's heartbeat. If this doesn't work, you may need to take it to a Veterinarian for a checkup.
PS If the puppy really has a hernia, ask the Vet what to do next time you go.

That is way too soon for a puppy to be weaned away from it's mother. No wonder the poor thing is crying and has a fast heart beat. Try putting a warm, hot water bottle (bag) near her and a clock that ticks. It will mimic the warmth and heartbeat of the mother. But I would also talk to the vet or give her back to the people with the mother until she's at least 6-8 weeks old. They should know better than to give away a pup this young.

3 1/2 week old puppy? Where is her mom? Is she hungry? I'd really need to know the answer to the "where is her mom" question.
If she's really 3 1/2 weeks old, and she's not with her mother, she's probably hungry and NEEDING that motherly bond and affection and warmth. If she has a hernia, she could be in pain, so I would take her to the vet to get that fixed. I know it may be expensive, but if you love your puppy, she needs that to be healthy.
If she's really that old, she needs to be cuddled and kept warm as much as possible. She's just an infant. Think of her as an infant human, she wants love and attention. Try wrapping a towel with a clock that ticks to simulate a heartbeat that she can cuddle up to. Maybe putting a heating pad ON LOW under a towel or blanket for her to sleep on.
Please don't let the poor baby just cry and cry. I know it's hard, and I know it's time consuming, but if she's THAT young, she doesn't need to be just left alone to cry and comfort herself. Bless the poor baby's heart.
Just cuddle her, the heart beating fast is from the crying. Feed her and give her love. Also, get that hernia fixed.

Hi beware,
The puppy misses it's mother. Try putting a clock that ticks in bed with puppy (almost like a heart beat) along with a hot water bottle under puppies bedding. This should do the trick also try giving puppy some baby formula(any kinda formula works I don't recommend anything with iron though) just before putting down for the night. Be sure you talk to puppy eventurely no more crying. Full puppy stomach, warm bedding, heart beat. Good luck & have a good day. :0)

It's because she's too young to be away from the mother and is not ready to be on it's own yet. Aside from that, puppies are just like babies, they cry a lot for the first few weeks. When my dog had puppies they didn't stop crying until about 8-12 weeks.

She is crying for her mom. She won't stop. It is just part of being a puppy. Honestly, she will probably die unless you really know how to care for her. You have to dropper feed her every 3 or 4 hours. Then you have to relieve her bladder and bowels by rubbing a wet cotton ball in a straight vertical line down her tummy and across her rear end. She needs to be wrapped up and kept warm.
She's not a puppy to be played with right now. She is a baby that needs intense care to grow and thrive.

She was taken away from mama to soon You still have a small baby on your hands. If you can't afford to take the baby to the vet yet, try to bottle feed the baby for awhile a few times a day and love the baby alot. He or she misses the bond with the mama. You are now the new mama so bond with your
new baby and he or she will be your best friend for the rest of he or she's life

U did not state what type of milk u r feeding her. Maybe she is hungry.
Did u know that dogs pick up on human emotions. Maybe I'm speculating but try to keep a lite and happy atmosphere around the puppy.
Show her lots of love and attention. Donot leave her unattended for too long.

three and a half weeks is too soon to separate a pup from her mom. The fact that her heart is always beating fast is a clear indication that she's severely distressed and frightened. Leaving her alone will not do the trick. In fact, it'll only worsen her crying, since it simply adds on to her fear and isolation.
A pup isn't like an adult animal...like human babies/ toddlers, baby animals require lots of attention and TLC. They'll outgrow their "neediness" in due time, and don't be afraid that you're spoiling your pup.
When she cries, attend to her. Hold her, cuddle her close to your body, let her get used to your smell, and talk gently to her. Any talk is fine...all she needs is to feel you close, and feel safe. When she has to be left alone on her own, place a soft, worn clothing of yours in with her in her bed, so that she can continue to have your smell close to her. Also, have a warm (not hot) waterbottle ready for her under her bedding to keep her warm, as baby animals are very much like human babies...they can't regulate their own body temperature, and become hypothermic rapidly.
If it helps her to hear your voice after she's learned to trust you as her carer, all you need to do to help relieve separation anxiety is to have her within close range, so that she could hear your voice. Continue communicating and interacting with her as you would care for your own child if you've got one, and you'll soon see the fruits of your TLC. Believe me...the late night feedings and crying and all...are all worth it in the end :)
And oh yes...do get the hernia checked out and fixed ASAP...it must be causing her plenty of physical pain!
