Well, while I do believe that an older guy who shows interest in a teenage girl is only interested for sex, there is a saying that applies: if you keep advertising yourself, someone's eventually going to answer the ad. These days, I see little girls that haven't even hit puberty yet being allowed to dress provocatively. I work in the medical field, & have seen girls 10-years-old & younger wearing clothes that are highly inappropriate, going so far as to wear miniskirts with thongs or no panties at all. I have to wonder what parents are thinking letting these children go around dressed like they should be peddling themselves on street corners, especially when there are plenty of pedophiles in the world who would be interested in little girls dressed this way. So, when teenage girls are dressing this way half their childhood & already experimenting sexually before they've even completed puberty, I think men are going to notice. If a girl looks sexy & acts sexy, men will notice, regardless of whether or not they should.

Also, I think culture may be a factor to consider, too. While the majority of America still considers such an example as a 32-year-old man dating a 16-year-old girl taboo, I'm sure there are some cultures where this is perfectly acceptable, & it even was here years ago. In the past, this could be defended as the older man could better support the younger girl, & would be established to the point where he could support children. Meanwhile, women his own age would probably already be married to older men & have children, or be barren & not able to give him offspring, so it was to both parties' benefit for this sort of union to occur, as well as beneficial to the girl's family, since they knew their daughter would be well-supported. Needless to say, times have changed in America, but perhaps there are other countries where this is the case, or where age differences aren't so important. I would truly be interested to see how this compares in other cultures, & if the teenagers in those societies are also dressing as provocatively as those in America are today.

This answer is in all seriousness that befits a discussion between a father and grown-up daughter.
The man, in our society, has to provide and the woman be an advisor and partner in making a home.
In the process of establishing his capabilities of providing for a family, he may take time and therefore he is in middle age or even a little later when he is ready to build a family.
The girls are by nature pretty and attractive. They are also endowed with a certain different kind of wisdom which endears them to men's sense of providing protection to a some what weak minded but ever so loving kind of weakness.
Many older women have said in the media, from time to time, old men are gentle and kind than the young and inexperienced.
Therefore, it is good for both old men and teenage girls if their imaginations do not run riot and both are faithful to their life partners.
This faithfullness will run in the family and cling to their children too.
If a careful study of Chapman Report II is made the fact that unfaithfull parents tend to bring-up unfaithfull children could be found.

Old guys sleep with teenagers because they're pedophiles.

I know of a guy who went to prison for sleeping with a teenage girl, even though he was only in his 30's and she told him she was 18. The law doesn't care- if an adult has sexual contact with a person below the age of consent, it's statutory rape.

That said, I think teenage girls need to think about what they're advertising. Even if it's not old guys who end up trying to get some from them, it's going to be SOMEONE and that someone isn't always who these girls are trying to attract. In fact, dressing like "that" only attracts negative attention. All women, not just teenagers, need to have a little respect for themselves and dress in a way that doesn't scream "Sl*t!" It's very possible to dress in attractive ways without looking like a street walker.

Older men have always been attracted to younger women. It has nothing to do with how they dress. On a primal level, the younger women are more likely to be able to bear children then older women. On a sexual level, the men see a teenager as a sexually driven person with a lot of energy.

But when you say teenagers, if you mean below the age of 18, then perhaps it's a forbidden fruit sort of thing? If the person is below the age of legal consent, then it is rather disgusting that an adult would take advantage of them. Probably a mental problem with the older man, in that case.

Teenagers is just curious about life, and they want to discover it, no matter how.
Now, old guys is taking advantage of it (which is wrong) and using this Young people to get over of they're frustrations. this old guys are shameless. this days a saw one with a very Young Philippine lady!!! I guess they want to see if they have 'still got it'. Maybe they think the younger the girl, the more attractive he his. It could also be a dominance thing - he wants to be in control. Where a woman his own age has a little more 'life experience' and will be independent.

if you are a teenager, sleeping with a teenager is alright.

but if you aren't in high school, and you date or sleep with someone who is, it makes me physically sick.

i think it's got nothing to do with the clothes. i think it's because sleaze bags are not attractive therefore can't get a woman, so they go after impressionable wanting-to-feel-outrageous young teenagers. it's disgusting.

for a teenager, dating an older man, feels cool. they feel older and mature and wanted. so it's harder for them to say "no you sicko".

i once had a friend (26yrs old) and he and i met up at a local pub and he told me he had to go meet his girlfriend once she'd finished work. i asked if they'd be returning to the pub. he said "no, she's underage". i haven't spoken to him since. i am so disgusted by that predatory behaviour.
