18 months ago I got chatting to this guy over a chat room. We waited for about 6 months before we met. We chat most days on MSN, send text messages, ring each other regularly. Over the past year we have met about 10 times. We are what we call close friends. When we are together we are great. Just on a friends basis. He calls me "an angel sent from heaven" and "One of the nicest gems"

Yesterday he wrote me an e-mail saying that he has met another lady friend. He wants to mention me to this lady? Why? I don`t bare any grudges if he wants to date someone else. Friendship is just as important.

I am left very confused, and I have to admit I have feelings for him. I have done for a long time.

It was just when he said that he was going to mention my name to this other lady....is he hiding his true feelings for me?

We are both in our 30s.

Well, if he's bragging about his new lady friend, chances are, that he sees you as nothing more than a good friend. And maybe he wants his new friend to know that you are in his life, just in case any complications were to arise later on if he were to try and get together with this girl. You say that friendships are just as important, and yet you have feelings for him. It seems like you're the one harbouring feelings. The best thing you can do is just be a good friend and be supportive of him, it's most likely what he expects. He might not know the true feelings you have for him, and so he felt free to go covorting for other women. You may have another chance to admit your feelings to him, if things with this new girl turn sour, or if he decides not to date her. But for now, you've missed the train. If you really want to be with him, wait at the terminal and see how his situation turns out.
