BOTH WITH NUCLEAR CAPABILITIES

This will depend a lot on the scale of intrusion. There is always a little bit of sabre-rattling going on on the Siachen-Glacier. The frozen frontier gets stepped over a little bit now and then and shells are flying regularly both ways. But both armies know that any attack on a greater scale would start a loosing game for both sides. India knows that it won't be better of with Pakistan almost anihilated and several of it's own cities completley destroyed. And the Pakistani Government/Army knows the most probable outcome, too. There won't be much left to govern.

Key international leaders would intervene very very quickily. I don't believe either India nor Pakistan would invade each other because they both are aware of each others nuclear deterrants. I also do not believe that either of them would 'push the button' first if invaded as that would bring worldwide condemnation for escalating a situation before diplomacy had taken its course.

Then again it depends on the scale of the invasion, if either one attacked with a nuke then there would probably be no time for diplomacy, all we would be able to do would be to clean up the aftermath. The cities the nukes hit will probably remain unlivable for the remainder of our lives.

It wont happen though. I don't believe you can mount a serious invasion without your neighbour knowing due to the sheer amount of troops and tanks you would need to build up in advance.

Nuclear weapons today are FAR more powerful then the ones used by the US on Japan during WWII. No one really wants to use what we have today unless absolutely forced to.

Maximum about a quarter of India will get destroyed. But all of Pakistan will turn a country with graves and graves only. And rest of the Hindus and Sikhs can live peacefully.
