Place a moist heating pad on the shoulder for twenty minutes. Afterwards apply an analgesic cream. Do this several times a day. If you have someone you know massage the cream into the shoulder that will help release the tension.

Work on your posture.
Stop carrying a heavy purse.
NO back pack on one shoulder.
I have had horrid shoulder pain and now wear a wallet on a string, and that's all I carry, My ID, lipstick, and cards, and $.
It took me 2 yrs of posture corrections, sleeping on my back, not my side, and months of physical therapy that MY HEALTHCARE Provider covered.
*I wouldn't have made it w/o my tempru-pedic pillow!!!
ahhhhhhhhhh highly advise you invest in one of those! 4 inche or 4 1/2. i would have paid 10$ a night to sleep on one of those, and it would have been paid for in 9 days! SO worth it!
you can always try a streching class, yoga, or exercise for arthritis.
BUT.......the best thing you can do, is sit up straight, tuck your chin, and put your feet flat on the ground, and shoulders back.
*drop the heavy purse.....carry a min. of id, $ and cards.
Leave everything else locked in your trunk.
OH-- I like to use icy-hot patches, they last up to 24 hours, and work wonders!!!
I wish you the very best of luck.
any questions, please IM me.
I have had this problem for a dozen years, and had to quit work from the extreme pain.
*now i have the movement and feeling back in my left arm, and hand!!!
it's worth the life style changes, and simple exercises, you can find in books on posture, and THE NECK BOOK.
Shoulder pain stems from the neck.
OR from carrying a backpack on one shoulder or purse!
im me or email.

I feel for you!! Good luck, and i know you need to take care of you first, and money is tieght!
