greatbigfeet is right. Just feed individually and take away after 15 minutes.
Also - do not change the food. This can cause other upset and you want the "diet/weight loss" to be a smooth transition for all. Many of the weight control dog foods eliminate necessary fats for a healthy coat (including the omega fats), etc. You may end up with a dog with very dry skin itching and flaking. Better to cut back the food and increase the exercise.

Feed your dogs individually.
What they dont eat in 15 minutes, take away from them.
For the obese dog, give it about a third of what has been getting and grate a large carrot into it to give it some bulk. Stir the carrot through. If you use dry food, mix with water with it as well to help fill the dog up.
And no treats. (ok, just one treat a week)

You are right to get it under control now! My sister's dog DIED at only 5 years old for getting truly overweight.
It's similar to dieting in people: more frequent meals, but less of it.
If you can't walk her everyday, find other ways to get her exercised. PLAY with her. Get her a new toy that you think she'd be interested in, and "tease" her with it. Get her moving. If you don't know what will get her going, take her to a pet supply place with you, and see what she likes. Maybe a specal toy, or ball, etc. Enlist the help of friends and family.
No snacks or people food!

first you need to feed each dog seperatly.
The fatty gets 1/3 less and absolutely no treats. ( don't give teh othes treats in front of her)
and plenty of excercise.
If you just cut back on teh food that should be ok but they also do make good diet foods.
You may want to check with your vet and make sure it isnt a medical reason she is overweight like thyroid.
Good luck and patience

You need to feed your animals on a set schedule, and feed them the serving suggestion required so they don't overeat. A good diet dog food I can reccomend is Nutro Lite. They sell it at pet stores like Petco or PetSmart, you can't buy it at grocery stores. It is a little more pricey, but it's much healthier. I would also suggest taking her to the vet and seeing if they have any diet tips.

All I can say is go to a vet...
A vet always gives the best answer and they will help you to start a diet plan for your dog and to get the best results...
Make sure that your dog gets plenty of exercise aswell because that is a big factor.
Best of Luck!
